In the case of the event being maxed out, any spots opened as a result of cancellations will be automatically filled with the next available player(s) on the waitlist (ordered by waitlist registration time). There will be no charge until players/teams are moved from the waitlist to the confirmed tournament roster in our system.
ENTRY FEE - $275.00 per player
ELIGIBILITY
Open to any amateur golfer with an active GHIN Handicap Index® at time of registration and competition. Must be resident of or attending college in Ohio. If your GHIN number is from outside Northern Ohio, please reach out to Sean Croell at 440-686-1070 ext. 215 or email scroell@noga.org

FORMAT
54 Holes of Stroke Play. An individual competition, in which each player competes against all other players within the respective division. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf and its decisions, by the NOGA Hard Card and the terms of competition. Rule 1.3B states that players are responsible for applying the rules to themselves.
FIELD SIZE
120 Players. If the event is full, players can still register and be placed on the Waiting List. Players will NOT be charged until they have been moved from the Waiting List to the Tournament Roster.
CUT
The field will be cut after 36 holes.

HISTORY OF THE NEOA
Originally known as the Plain Dealer Invitational, the Northeast Ohio Amateur Championship was rescued and rebranded by the Northern Ohio Golf Association in 1965. The NEO Am has had a history of illustrious champions, headed by the late Arnold Palmer, who got his exceptional career started in Northeast Ohio as a young Coast Guard member in 1953. Three-time NEO Am champ Bob Shave Jr. also played the pro tour, and Joe Ungvary Sr., a five-time NEO Am Champion who also won a U.S. Senior Amateur Open. Take a step back and look at the courses and names who have made their mark on amateur golf in Northeast Ohio through this prestigious tournament. The Championship yardage tops out at just over 6800 yards, yet the course is played from Blue Tees at 6400 yards, Combo Blue and White Tees at 6150, as well as White Tees at 5800 yards so that players of all levels can enjoy the game. The course features 5 new Ladies tees and is rated at 5400 and 5100 yards respectively for the Ladies. Avon Oaks is a "PGA Family Course" where Juniors just learning the game may play from permanent tees markers in the ground for par 3s, 4s, and 5s that are age/length and ability appropriate.
