Open to male amateur golfers under the age of 19 and with a handicap index of 12.0 or lower; a competitor must and not be 19 as of June 20.

CHAMPIONSHIP FEE

Player’s advancing to the Championship through qualifying will be responsible for a $100.00 Championship fee.  This fee will be charged to the player upon being transferred to the Championship proper in the online registration system after your qualifying round has concluded.  Exempt players have no additional championship fees aside from the practice round.

FORMAT

54 holes of stroke play; field cut to the low 70 and ties after 36 holes.

PRACTICE ROUNDS

One practice round per player. Practice rounds will be available on the designated times below two weeks prior to the competition. Please contact Rivermont Golf Club to reserve your practice round starting time. Cash and credit cards will be accepted for spectators wishing to rent a cart for the practice round.  Practice round spectator cart fee is $25 per seat as noted below.

  • Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, anytime based on availability
  • Saturday and Sunday, based on availability after 1:00 p.m.

YARDAGES & TEES

The Championship tee markers and yardages will be utilized for the championship.  Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition. A complete practice yardage sheet will be provided for players playing practice rounds.

GOLF SHOP &

DRIVING RANGE:

The golf shop and driving range will open at 6:30 a.m. each day of competition.

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the GSGA and posted at the club on Sunday, June 17. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times beginning on June 12. 

REGISTRATION

No formal registration will be held on site. Player withdraws must be called or e-mailed in to the GSGA office so that an alternate may be contacted.

CADDIES

All players must walk and carry their own bag. Caddies specifically prohibited. Pull/Push carts are allowed.

RULES OF PLAY/PACE OF PLAY/SPECTATOR CART POLICY

The GSGA Rules of Play, Pace of Play and Spectator Cart Policy for Junior Competitions shall be in effect. Click here to view the GSGA Rules of Play and Pace of Play Policies. Spectators may rent carts during the competition rounds at a cost of $25 per cart seat. The number of carts allowed for rental to spectators will be limited to two carts per group and no more than two people will be allowed per cart. The overall number of spectator carts rented is subject to change based on availability.  Cash and credit cards will be accepted forms of payment.

DRESS CODE

Proper golf attire must be worn in all phases of this Championship. No tank tops, tee shirts, or blue jeans will be allowed. Competitors must be neat in respect to personal grooming and clothing. Shorts must be Bermuda length. Shirts must have collars.

PLAYER HOSPITALITY

The GSGA cordially invites all players and families to a cookout in their honor on Monday evening, June 18 at Country Club of Roswell.  More details will be provided at a later date.

FOOD SERVICE

Food service will be available each day of the championship.  Cash and credit cards will be accepted for payment.

PRIZES

Medals will be awarded to the top 10 finishers. 

GA/SC JUNIOR CHALLENGE MATCH

The top eight finishers in the Georgia Junior Championship will qualify to participate in the Georgia-South Carolina Junior Challenge Match on July 20-21 at The Landings Club – Deer Creek. The 9th and 10th place finishers will be 1st and 2nd alternates. Details will be distributed at the conclusion of the championship.

REFUNDS AND WITHDRAWS

A $30 service charge will be retained by the GSGA on all refunds granted prior to the close of entries. Entry fees will not be refunded after entries close unless there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled. Withdraws after the close of entries must be made by notifying the GSGA Rules and Competitions Department at (770) 955-4272 or via e-mail.
