Format/Course – Individual Stroke Play | Greenback

Entry Fees – $10 per player; will be invoiced online after round.

Tees/Flights – All play will be from the yellow tees. Players will be split equally into flights based on playing handicaps and number of participants entered.

Handicaps – Players receive 100% of their course handicap, based on the course rating of tees played and taking into account the required CR - Par adjustment. Strokes will be allocated on holes as they fall.

Optional Payball Game – There will be a signup sheet at the starter shack for individuals would like to play in the skins game. Entry is $5 per player; half will go towards gross skins and half towards net skins, over the entire field (by flight if enough players)

Prizes –  Prize distributions will be based on field composition, with a higher percentage of funds and positions weighted towards the net competitions. Players cannot win in both gross and net competitions and will be awarded single highest valued prize. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each flight. At least a minimum of 30% of the field will receive prizes.

Closest-To-Pin Contests – KPs will be on every hole; all players eligible

Deuce Pot – every gross deuce (birdie 2) will be guaranteed a prize, paid pro rata to total deuces scored

Food – BBQ pulled pork dinner following round; stick around for Club meeting & Turkey Shoot Calcutta!

Location: Colwood Golf Center

Cost: $10 for food (if playing golf, included)

Time: Pulled Pork BBQ will be served starting at 4:30pm, in conjunction with the annual Club Meeting. The Calcutta bidding for the Turkey Shoot will follow, starting at approximately 4:45pm.

 

Only sign up for this "round" if you are NOT playing golf at 2pm but only attending the meeting and eating.

 

We will be playing in Sixsomes with a 9am SHOTGUN start. Chili and cornbread after the round is included.

Tees/Flights – All golfers will play from the blue tees (short set up, only 6000 yards). Teams will be split into 3 flights as equally as possible, based on combined team adjusted playing handicap. 

Handicaps – Each player receives 25% of their course handicap, taking into account the required CR - Par adjustment. Both players' adjusted course handicaps will combine as team playing handicap, rounded to the nearest tenth decimal place. For instance, a team's final handicap might be a 12.4 or a 23.2

Maximum Differential – Teams outside of a playing handicap differential of 10 strokes will have the higher handicapper reduced down to the maximum allowed.

Optional Payball Game – Entry is $20 per team. Skins will be for gross scores only within flights. For ease of billing, it will be assumed that all teams are participating. If your team does NOT want to participate, please inform BJ to avoid charge

Prizes – The pot will be spilt equally to gross and net; teams cannot win both gross and net, and will be awarded single highest valued prize; ties bias towards gross; at least a minimum of 30% of the field will receive prizes; the Club will enhance the prize pot

Calcutta Ties – by default, ties will split the combined prize values; if teams are present, owners can agree to a playoff starting from the 150yd marker on #18

Round Robin Group Play – players will be split into groups of 4, based on handicap indexes, and will play 3 total matches, once against each of the other group members; Each hole will be worth 1 point (1/2 point if tied) and a match win will earn a 3-point bonus. Matches ending in a tie will remain tied – no playoffs.
Round 1 Play-by Date – December 15^th
Round 2 Play-by Date – December 29^th
Round 3 Play-by Date – January 12^th
Bracket Play – each group winner will automatically advance to a 4-player single elimination bracket; bracket rounds will begin after January 12^th and opponents will have two weeks to complete their match; the final match should be completed around mid-February.
Course – matches may be played at any course by agreement; if opponents cannot agree, then Heron Lakes Greenback will serve as the default course
Tees – players may agree to any tee arrangement, but if they cannot agree, then white tees will be the default tee for both players.
Scheduling – opponents should contact each other (enter 2024HLMC to view member info) to set match dates; matches can be played at any agreed upon time, including Club rounds. During a Club round, players have the option to also participate in the day's regular $10 game.
Matches: 18-hole net match play; higher handicapper receives full differential
Handicaps – players will use their index as of the day of play
Bracket Playoff Holes – If a winner is not determined after 18 holes, play will continue as sudden death, beginning with the first hole of play with handicap strokes retained
Reschedules –  Each competitor may request one reschedule with their opponent after a match has been confirmed. If a competitor needs to request a reschedule, they must notify their opponent at least 2 days prior to the time for the confirmed match, or be penalized two (2) holes forfeited. Competitors are not required to grant a reschedule if they are not notified at least 2 hours prior
No-Shows – If an opponent fails to appear by the tee time for a confirmed match, the competitor present should begin play as scheduled and will automatically win any hole not played by their opponent. If the opponent does not join in the round by the start of the 4th hole, they will be declared a no-show and the entire match is forfeited. The present competitor should still submit an official digital or paper scorecard. In Round Robin, the winner will receive an automatic 13 points. In Bracket Play, the winner will be advanced to the next stage.
Unplayed Matches – In group play, any match not completed will result in no points being earned for either opponent. In bracket play, matches not completed by official play-by dates will be determined via a coin toss procedure. Each coin toss will mimic one hole as part of an 18-hole round. Tosses will continue until one competitor (represented by “heads” or “tails”) has closed out the match.
Scoring/Reporting  – Matches should be scored using the GolfGenius app. If a paper card must be used, report hole-by-hole results to Aaron Blackwelder (aaronblackwelder@mac.com)
