Format:

One18-hole stipulated round of individual stroke play.  Contestants will play from the USGA Tee Markers wherever they are situated (see Yardage sheet).  The low individual score(s) will advance to the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at Baltusrol Golf Club, Springfield, N.J.  July 15-21, 2018.  Any play-offs will take place immediately after the conclusion of play for the last spot and two alternate positions.

 

Competition Schedule:                               

Starting times will begin at 7:30am off of holes #1 and 10.

Please check the NCGA website for groupings and starting times. Please be at your assigned tee at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time.

 

Practice Round Information:                     

Fee - $20, cart fee is an additional $10 per rider. This rate is available for CONTESTANTS only; however parents may ride along during a practice round. Times are on a space available basis, times/arrangements may be made available at the discretion of Copper River Country Club staff. Call the Golf Shop at the number above to schedule a practice round.

 

 

Cart Information:                                        

Automotive transportation is prohibited. Players and caddies must walk.  Pull-carts are permitted. SPECTATOR CARTS ARE PROHIBITED.

 

Caddies:                                                        

Caddies are permitted for the qualifying; however, no caddies are available at Copper River Country Club.  Players are restricted from having Parents and Legal Guardians as Caddies.

 

Practice Balls:                                              

Provided for players prior to and following the competition round at no cost. The practice range will open at 6:30am.

 

Payment Information:                                

Cash, check or credit card are accepted on site.

 

Food and Beverage Information:              

No food or beverage, other than water provided on the course will be provided. Players, caddies and spectators may order from a limited service menu at the snack bar throughout the day.

 

Withdrawals:                                               

Notify the NCGA at 831-625-4653 to withdraw.  Players that fail to notify the NCGA prior to their starting time will be listed as No Shows.

 

Refunds:                                                        

In the event of injury or illness, contact the USGA at 908-234-2300 for a refund prior to June 6, 2018.  No refunds will be issued after July 17, 2018. A $20 service charge will be deducted from all refunds.

Rules Information:                                       

The 2018 USGA Rules of Golf are in effect and are supplemented by the 2018 USGA Hard Card.  The Committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed at the qualifying site.  It is the player’s responsibility to know the conditions of the competition.

 

Limitation of Golf Balls:                              

The optional condition in Appendix I known as the “One Ball” Rule is in effect. See Appendix I-C-1c (pg. 138).

 

Automotive Transportation:                     

The use of automotive transportation is prohibited for players and caddies.  See Appendix I-C-8 (pg. 142).

 

 

Distance-Measuring Devices:                     

Distance-Measuring Devices that measure DISTANCE ONLY are permitted in accordance with the Note to Rule 14-3. See Appendix I-B-9 (pg. 136).

 

Footwear:                                                     

Shoes with traditionally-designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round.  Penalty for breach of this condition: Disqualification.

 

Grooves Condition:                                     

Optional condition prescribed in Decision 4-1/1 is in effect.  You may check to see if your grooves are conforming by using the Informational Club Database - http://www.usga.org/InfoClubsDB/intro.html
