Format:                                                         

One 18-hole stipulated round of stroke play.  Contestants will play from the WHITE USGA Markers wherever they are situated (see Yardage sheet).  The low individual scores will advance to the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship at Poppy Hills GC in Pebble Beach, CA on July 16-21, 2018. Any play-offs will take place immediately after the conclusion of play for the last spot and two alternate positions.

 

Competition Schedule:                               

Starting times will start at 8:00am off of holes #1 and #10.

Please check the NCGA website for groupings and starting times. Please be at your assigned tee at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time.

 

Practice Round Information:                     

Available Tuesday-Thursday on a space available bases after 2 PM. Fee is $60 and players must be accompanied by a parent. Cart is mandatory for practice rounds. Cart fee is $20.  Parents may play with their junior at a rate of $90. 

NOTE: Practice rounds are NOT available on Sunday, June 17th. The practice facilities are CLOSED until after 4 PM. Do not attempt to use the facilities prior to that time.

 

Cart Information:                                        

Automotive transportation is prohibited. Players and caddies must walk.

Pull-carts are permitted and a limited number are available from Corral De Tierra. SPECTATOR CARTS ARE PROHIBITED.

 

Caddies:                                                        

Caddies are permitted in the qualifying (see also Additional Rules Information below). However, caddies are NOT available from Corral De Tierra.

 

Practice Balls:                                              

Provided for players prior to and following competition round at no cost. The practice range will open at 7:00am. The practice putting and chipping greens will open at sunrise. The Pro Shop will open at 7:30am.

 

Payment Information:                                

Cash and Credit Cards are permitted for all purchases.

 

Food and Beverage Information:              

The Snack Bar will be open at 7:30 AM and throughout the day. Note that no breakfast foods are available from the snack bar. Please plan accordingly. No outside food and beverage is permitted.

 

Withdrawals:                                               

Notify the NCGA at 831-625-4653 to withdraw.  Players that fail to notify the NCGA prior to their starting time will be listed as No Shows.

 

Refunds:                                                        

In the event of injury or illness, contact the USGA at 908-326-1950 for a refund prior to July 16, 2018. No refunds will be issued after July 16, 2018.  A $20 service charge will be deducted from all refunds.

 

ADDITIONAL RULES INFORMATION

 

Rules Information:                                       

The Rules of Golf effective January 2016 are in effect and are supplemented by the 2018 USGA Hard Card.  The Committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed at the qualifying site.  It is the player’s responsibility to know the conditions of the competition.

 

Caddies:                                                        

A player may not use a parent, step parent, or guardian as a caddie during Sectional Qualifying or the Championship proper. See Appendix I-B-2 (pg. 157).

 

Limitation of Golf Balls:                              

The optional condition in Appendix I known as the “One Ball” Rule is in effect. See Appendix I-B-1c (pg. 156).

 

Automotive Transportation:                     

The use of automotive transportation is prohibited for players and caddies.  See Appendix I-B-8 (pg. 159).

 

Distance-Measuring Devices:                     

Optional Local Rule permitting the use of distance-measuring devices that measure distance only is in effect.  See Appendix I-A-7 (pg. 153).

 

Footwear:                                                     

Shoes with traditionally-designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round.  Penalty for breach of this condition: Disqualification.

 

Grooves Condition:                                     

Optional condition prescribed in Decision 4-1/1 is in effect.  You may check to see if your grooves are conforming by using the Informational Club Database - http://www.usga.org/InfoClubsDB/intro.html
