Standing Rules

**2024 changes are highlighted in yellow**

1.Cancellation of a Wednesday tee time must be made by Sunday at 5:00 pm, before final tee times have been posted and the on-line sign up is closed. A member who fails to cancel by then is considered a NO-SHOW and a fine will be assessed during the months of June, July and August.

No-Show Fee for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd occurrences will be $10 each.  No-Show Fees after the 3rd time will be $20 each.  No shows negatively impact scheduling and other group’s pace of play.

You will be notified by email if you have a fine and is payable on the member’s next play day. Attach your check or cash to your scorecard or pay via Venmo. A member who has an outstanding NO-SHOW fine for more than two weeks will not be given another tee time until the fine is paid. If you must cancel after the tee times have been posted, please notify Kathy Ratte at rattekathya@gmail.com.

NOTE: No-Show Fees will be waived/not enforced on a playdate where RC staff notifies us that the play is “CART PATH ONLY” or “NO CARTS ALLOWED”.

2. To retain membership, members are required to play a minimum of 7 days throughout the 27 week season.  Spring orientation counts as a play day. (Notification of injury, or extended hardship will override). If a player does not meet the minimum requirement, their name will be moved to the bottom of the waitlist for the next season.

3. Members may invite guests.  Scheduling (Kathy Ratte) should be contacted, tee time availability/priority will go to members over a guest, so final registration numbers will determine if the guest is moved onto the “FINAL TEE TIME” list.  There is no limit to how many times a person can play as a non-member guest. The guest must play in the pairing of the member who invited them and if a league member wants to submit her round for the “Game of the Day” there must be another league member in the group to attest the score.

4. Each player shall deposit 10 cents in the “Putt Jar” for each putt over 2 on every hole.  If the player picked up on a hole pursuant to Rule 4 below, she shall pay ten cents for that hole.   These funds are used to defray event expenses.

5. The Hole In One Award is for a hole-in-one shot during a Wednesday play day or tournament of the 9-Hole Club. If more than one member makes a Hole in One in the same season, the money will be shared among those players. If no one qualifies during the season, all funds are carried over to the next year.

6. On regular play days, if a player picks up their ball or has 13 strokes, she is required to pick up her ball without holing out.  If she picks up, the person keeping her score should place an X in the space for putts on that hole. The player will not be disqualified for game of the day.

7. Properly filled out scorecards shall include date, gross hole-by-hole scores, total gross score, putts per hole, and total putts.  Gobbles must be noted to be counted.  Each card must be signed by the marker, attested by the player, and turned in on game day.

DO NOT POST YOUR SCORE IN GHIN – ALL LEAGUE PLAY DAY SCORES WILL BE POSTED FOR YOU BY THE SCORECARD MANAGER OR HANDICAP CHAIR.

See instruction pages related to the new calculation of maximum score per hole allowed in GHIN for handicap purposes.

8. A Player who turns in an unsigned scorecard will be assessed a 2-stroke penalty which will be applied to the last hole of the round.  An improperly completed scorecard will disqualify a player for Game of the Day or Tournament prizes. (See Scorecard Completion Section)

9. In accordance with USGA a GHIN Handicap Index will be issued to a player after submitting acceptable scores from a minimum of 54 holes.  Scores can be made up of any combination of 9 or 18 holes.  Revisions are daily for those players who have posted a score the day before.  A GHIN handicap is required in order to be eligible for Game of the Day and Tournament prizes.

10.  To qualify for the Club Championship Tournament players must turn in at least 10 attested score cards from Wednesday club play at Raccoon Creek. Spring Orientation attendance counts as a play day.

11.  In accordance with the bylaws, any Pro-Shop prize money credits not spent by December 31 will be transferred to the 9-Hole Club and used the following year for league events.

12. Membership refunds will be given prior to the first play day. Requests for refunds after that must be submitted in writing to the Board for consideration. There shall be no refunds after June 1st.

13.  When a member repeatedly violates Club guidelines of ethical conduct, sportsmanship, scorecard reporting or pace of play, the Board may take action if a written complaint is received from a member.  The Board will review the complaint and if action is required, the member will be advised and have the opportunity to improve during the season.  If no improvement is made, the Board may take further action, up to and including membership termination without refund of dues.
