Practice Round: Monday, July 16th is the official practice round day. Players may reserve a tee time by using the practice round link shown below. Practice round fee will be $25 to walk and $40 to ride (CASH ONLY). Golf carts are only allowed for the practice round, players must walk during the competition. Players who are unable to make the Monday practice round day should contact the golf shop. PCC will try to accomodate another date/time to play a practice round, but it is not guaranteed.

Withdrawals:  Please advise the NEGA office immediately at (774) 430-9016 if you are unable to compete. If there is a need to contact the NEGA staff after the close of business on Monday, July 16, please call Laura Nochta at (513) 800-7948 or reach her via email at lnochta@massgolf.org.

 

Format: 72 holes, stroke play. A cut will be made after 36 holes - top 40 players and ties will advance to the final day.

Caddies/Automotive Transportation: Golf carts are only permitted during the practice round. Push carts are allowed at PCC. Players are allowed caddies. PCC has a limited number of caddies available. Please contact Dan Venezio, head golf professional, to request and reserve a caddie in advance.

 

Distance Devices:  The use of distance measuring devices is permitted.

                                                                                                                     

Starting Times/Schedule: 

        Tuesday (RD 1) - morning wave beginning at 8:00 am off of both 1 & 10, afternoon wave beginning at 12:30 pm off of both 1 & 10.

        Wednesday (RD 2) - morning wave beginning at 8:00 am off of both 1 & 10, afternoon wave beginning at 12:30 pm off of both 1 & 10.

        Thursday (RD 3 & 4)  - morning starting times beginning at 7:30 am off of both 1 & 10, round 4 beginining at approximately 12:30 pm off of both 1 & 10.

 

Competition Tees/Yardage: The competition will be played from the GREEN tees (Approx. 6,400 yards; par 70).

 

Golf Shop and Practice Facilities:  The golf shop and practice facilities will be available at 7:00 am on the days of competition. Portland Country Club's driving range is limited to irons only (225 yards or less). The range will also be closed after play.

Food and Beverage: The NEGA will provide a complimentary lunch for players only each day of competition. Lunch will be served from 11 - 3 pm Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the ballroom. On Monday's practice round day, the club will have a limited menu available for players/caddies/etc. to purchase in the grillroom. This limited menu will also be available during tournament rounds for caddies, families, spectators, etc in the grillroom. The clubroom will also be open for players and guests to enjoy cocktails/limited menu items at the players expense from 4:00 to 7:00 pm each evening. Players and guests should be prepared to pay with CASH ONLY for any items purchased in the clubhouse.

 

Prizes: The winner will be awarded the Harry B. McCracken, Jr. Trophy. He will also receive a crystal trophy to keep from our supporting sponsor Prized Posessions. Top 10 finishers will receive merchandise certificates. Merchandise certificates are only redeemable at the host club.

 

Player gift: Each participant will receive a custom hat from our supporting sponsor Imperial Headwear.
