Special Features

First Tee - Tampa Bay's 2023 Charity Golf Classic has some special features that differentiates it from other outings. Some of these are as follows:

  • Playing with a First Tee - Tampa Bay youth member as the 5th player in your group. Be warned - our kids play!

  • Walking tournament with each player having their own caddie. All caddie fees, including tip, are covered.

  • Choice on your group's format. You can decide that morning to play Best Two Balls (everyone plays their own ball) or a Team Scramble. There will be prizes awarded the top three finishers in both formats.

Old Memorial Golf Course

In the fall of 1994, Outback Steakhouse founders Chris Sullivan, Bob Basham and Bob Merritt decided to move ahead with their dream of building a private, national golf club in their hometown of Tampa. Named after a nearby highway that was once the only route to the bay area of Tampa, Old Memorial Golf Club opened in November 1997.

Old Memorial is a pure, undisturbed sanctuary of golf, where members and guests can get away from the hectic pace of life to enjoy friendly competition, the camaraderie of golfers from diverse backgrounds, and the free exchange of ideas. In line with its traditional bent, walking with a caddie is mandatory at Old Memorial unless a medical condition requires use of a golf cart. The spirit of golf is alive and well at Old Memorial.
