Hello Players:

Welcome to the 2024 San Diego Amateur (South) being held Jan. 8-9 at Steele Canyon GC. Below is some very important information to help you plan for the tournament.

TOURNAMENT PORTAL

Pairings and results will be available on our Golf Genius portal, 24sandiegoamateursouth.golfgenius.com. We will have pairings for you no later than Tuesday, January 2. We will be teeing off the 1st tee in 10 minute intervals starting at 7:00am.

COURSE AND TEES

Steele Canyon is a 27-hole facility, and the tournament will be played on the Ranch and Vineyard nines. We will plan to play the following tees (subject to change based on course conditions and weather):

Championship: Black Knight at ~6900 yards

Senior: Blue at ~6400 yards

Net: White at ~6200 yards

PRACTICE ROUNDS

Please call the Steele Canyon golf shop at (619) 441-6900 to arrange your practice round. Rates will be as follows: Monday-Thursday $99, Friday $109, Saturday-Sunday $139

SCORING

All scoring will be electronic using Golf Genius. I encourage you to download the app if you don't have it already. Each group will be given a unique GGID to use when entering scores and we will verify at the scoring table after the round.

SCORE POSTING

We will post scores to GHIN after each round.

CADDIES/CARTS

Carts are included for tournament players - since we are playing threesomes there will be one spot per group that a caddie could ride in but beyond that, we do not allow spectator carts. If there is more than one caddie in any group we will leave it to the discretion of the players to share walking but in no case do we allow riding off the back of a cart.

LODGING

We have partnered with HotelPlanner.com to provide you with excellent rates; a search of hotels near the golf course provides you with plenty of options. Find your hotel by using the following link: San Diego Amateur (South) hotel search

Tournament policies can be seen on the Info tab HERE. We'll use email to communicate any weather issues or other last-minute changes.

Thank You,
