20.1 Qualifications
Each golf club affiliated to MIDDLESEX GOLF may enter a team of three male competitors. At least one must have a handicap of less than 12.4 and at least one with a handicap 12.5 or above on the date that the team’s entry is submitted. It is encouraged that a club should hold a qualifying medal or Stableford competition as the basis for selecting players for the MIDDLESEX GOLF MEN’S Coronation Bowl. If a qualifying competitor is unable to play in the MIDDLESEX GOLF MEN’S Coronation Bowl, his place may be taken by the next highest placed competitor from that qualifying competition as long as the handicap requirements described above are still met.
20.2 Maximum Entry
A maximum entry is one team of three competitors from each affiliated club.
20.3 Format
The MIDDLESEX GOLF MEN’S Coronation Bowl is a 36-hole stableford competition, played off handicap allowance with all competitors scores counting.
20.4 Order of Play
As far as is practical, competitors will be drawn to play in descending order of handicap in groups of three with no playing group comprising two competitors from the same club.
20.5 Prizes and Vouchers
i) The winning team will be the one with the highest aggregate stableford score over the 36 holes.
ii) The winning team will receive the Coronation Challenge Bowl and they will also receive a memento to retain and a voucher.
iii) The runners-up will receive a voucher.
iv) If there is a tie, the winner will be decided on the aggregate total over the last 18 holes played. If a tie still exists, the winner will be decided on the aggregate total over the last 9, 6, 3 or 1 hole. If a tie still exists, the winner will be decided on the aggregate total over the first 9, 6, 3 or 1 hole.
v) The competitor with the highest aggregate stableford score over the 36 holes will receive a memento to retain and a voucher.
