2024 MGA Replay

Format:

  • This event is a flighted, individual competition.  The size of the field will determine the number of flights.
  • Ringer format:  The player's score for round one will be the net score for each hole.   If the player achieves a better net score for a given hole in round two, that score will replace the hole score achieved in round one.   The total of the best net hole scores recorded during both rounds will be the player's total.
  • Pin and tee positions will be the same for both rounds.
  • Handicaps are based on the index in effect when signups close.   A USGA allowance of 95% will apply.
  • The tee sheet will be published on the website shortly after signups close.
  • Online mobile scoring will be required from one member in each foursome.  Another player will keep a paper scorecard.  Teams are responsible for verifying the two scores agree before signing and handing in the card.
  • The max score will be a net double bogey.
  • Courses are Creek/Cherokee
  • Play will be from any tee chosen by the player at signup.   Tee selections will be Black, Blue, Blue/White, White, White/Gold, and Gold.   Consider your choice carefully, as there will be NO tee changes once signup closes.

Ties:
  • Flights and Divisions: all ties will be resolved using the USGA 9/6/3/1 methodology.  The winner of a tie (or ties) will be the player or team with the best score for the back 9 holes (irrespective of starting hole), and if not resolved, the last 6, last 3, and last hole in that order.  If a tie is not resolved on the back 9, the same process will be used for the front nine.  If there is no winner at this point, the tie will be resolved by chip-off as described below.
  • Playoffs (if applicable):  During a playoff, ties will be resolved by chip-off.   All players will chip using any club they choose to use, and the closest to the pin will win.

Prizes/Payouts:

This event is flighted.  The number of places paid will be determined by the number of participants, with the payout approximating 40% of the field.  Payouts will be in Big Canoe Bucks.

Proximity:

  • Closest to the pin awards on all par 3 holes.
  • Each winner receives $50 per CTP, payable in Big Canoe Bucks.

Food & Beverage:

Beer and Box Lunches on Day 2.

Entry Fee: $50

The Entry Fee listed includes all tournament and F&B functions (if included) but does not include golf and cart fees.  The pro shop will calculate and bill those based on your individual status as an amenity member.

Big Canoe Cup Points:

20 points for all participants plus participation points equal to one point per Big Canoe Buck won, not including CTP awards.

Score Posting:

Day one will be a postable round.  The MGA will post scores.  Make sure on the scorecard there is a score for every hole, either gross, most likely gross, or max gross.  Day two will not be postable, and Xs will be used on the GG scorecard for holes where a player decides to pick up.

Local Rules:

The professional staff will cover local Rules in effect on the day of the tournament at teeoff.

Late Withdrawals:  Cancellations must be made by the close of signups.   You may cancel your registration by editing it and clicking the cancel registration button.  Players who cancel after signups close will still be charged the tournament fee.
