**Preliminary Play-In Round will only occur if more than 64 teams register. Teams playing in the Preliminary Round will be picked by the MSGA office and will come from a pool of teams consisting of those entries with the latest registration dates, those clubs relatively new to the event, and by geography.

Entry Fee: $300/Team
Teams will consist of eleven (11) male amateur members of the club designated and a professional employed by the same club as the eleven male amateur members. Scoring is Nassau System, three points on each match, best ball, no handicap.
Each member of the team must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age on the date of the match. Each amateur member must have an up-to-date handicap index at his member club and have viewable scores from playing at the member club. An up-to-date handicap index is a numerical value at the member club, not a recent transfer stating “none”. A player starting in this event as a member of one team may not compete as a member of any other team. MSGA member clubs must also be in good standing.
Matches should begin at 12:30 pm. Any deviation from this standard policy must be pre-arranged by golf professional staffs/captains. The lineups for the teams should be submitted together in writing at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the matches.
In case of a tie in points, 9 to 9, the number one teams, each of which must include the professional, will immediately play-off at sudden death at the course of the home team.
The MSGA Board reminds all teams that in the spirit of the competition it is the intent of these matches that the makeup of each team is comprised of male amateur members who are actively involved with their respective Clubs and maintain up to date USGA handicap indexes at that Club. For the 2024 season actively involved will be defined as having at least 5 scores posted from that club. You must have at least 5 scores posted from the club you are representing in the past 12-month period.
