2024 TOURNAMENT CRITERIA - (100 PLAYER FIELD)

The Peloton Glencoe Invitational is a 54-hole stroke play golf tournament with male and female divisions – each division is comprised of professionals and amateurs (with a cap of 30% international players).  Invitees are selected based on their competitive record in major events and World Amateur Ranking per the below criteria. The Invitational Committee reserves the right to select one Sponsor invitation in each division as well as determine the final division field sizes to maximize the overall strength of the field.

Should a player receive an invitation from the Tournament Committee, players need to register on-line from The Glencoe Invitational website.  The Tournament Committee will begin approvals and entry fee processing on April 1, 2024.  The final field (except for Monday qualifiers) will be set by May 1, 2024.

 

MEN’S DIVISION

Applicants from the following criteria listed below are given priority consideration:

Professional (maximum 15 players)

  • Canadians playing 2023 and 2024 PGA Tour Americas tour 
  • 2023 VGT Order of Merit winner
  • 2023 PGA of Canada Mike Weir Male Player of the Year
  • 2023 Alberta Order of Merit winner Top 2 players
  • 2023 Canadian PGA Order of Merit Top 5 players

 

Amateur

  • Top 30 Canadians on WAGR (as of January 2024)
  • 2023 Alberta Men’s Amateur Champion
  • 2023 Glencoe Club Men’s Club Champion
  • Canadians in the Top 10 in the 2023 Canadian Men’s Amateur
  • Top 5 finishers at the 2023 Glencoe Invitational
  • Past Invitational Champions (previous 5 Champions: ’18, ’19, ’21, ’22, ‘23)
  • Golf Canada Amateur and NexGen Team members
  • Monday Qualifiers (amateur only) – maximum of two low male amateurs. 

 

WOMEN’S DIVISION

Applicants from the following criteria listed below are given priority consideration:

Professional

  • Canadians ranked in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings
  • Top 5 professional finishers at the 2023 Ororo PGA Women’s Championship of Canada at Bromont
  • Active Epson, LET and LPGA Members
  • Canadians playing WAPT, Cactus and NXXT Women’s Pro Tours in 2023/2024 or Stage 1 2023 LPGA and Epson Tour Qualifying Tournament players
  • 2023 CP Women’s Open Monday qualifiers or exempt players
  • 2023 PGA of Canada Brooke Henderson Female Player of the Year
  • Top 3 finishers at the 2023 Glencoe Invitational
  • Past Invitational Champions (‘21, ’22, ‘23)

 

Amateur

  • Top 30 Canadians on WAGR (as of January 2024)
  • 2023 Alberta Women's Amateur Champion
  • 2023 Glencoe Club Women's Club Champion
  • Canadians in the Top 10 in the 2023 Canadian Women’s Amateur
  • Top 3 finishers at the 2023 Glencoe Invitational
  • Past Invitational Champions (‘21, ’22, ‘23)
  • Golf Canada Amateur and NexGen Team members
  • Monday Qualifiers (amateur only) – one low female amateur pending number of registrants (minimum 4)

 

ENTRY FEE

  • The Male and Female Amateur entry fee is $375 plus applicable taxes and Stripe fee ($400 total).
  • The Male and Female Professional entry fee is $500 plus applicable taxes and Stripe fee ($535 total).
  • No requests for refunds will be accepted after May 15, 2024 (unless special consideration is granted by the Tournament committee.  Note there is a $75 service fee for processing any withdrawals after May 15th.

 

Can I still qualify if I haven’t received an invitation? 

Even if you haven’t received an invitation, players are encouraged to apply using the registration link on the main tournament webpage which will be open in February. The final field will be set by May 1, 2024. There will also be a Monday qualifier on June 10, 2024. 

International players (permanent home residence outside Canada) are welcome to apply. 

WAGR rank and golf resumes will be used to fill the remaining spots. The Tournament Player subcommittee will review all applications in order to maximize the overall strength of the field.

PARTICIPATION INCLUDES

  • Up to 3 competition rounds on The Forest; following 36 holes of stroke play there will be a cut to the low 25 males and ties as well as the low 25 females and ties for final 18 holes. 
  • Note that there will not be separate cuts for amateurs and professionals.
  • One practice round
  • Players package including a first tee gift ($150 value)
  • Opening Awards Banquet invite
  • Food and Beverage ($200 value)

 

THE 2024 CHAMPIONS WILL RECEIVE

 

The top 25 players plus ties in both the male and female divisions will receive a cheque from their respective position in the purse distribution summary below.

Note 1: 1st place Amateur of $1,200 is the maximum allowable under Rules of Amateur Status effective Jan. 1, 2022.

Note 2: The cut in the male and female divisions will determine the number of positions paid from each of the above amateur and professional purse distributions.

The Female division is competing for a maximum purse of $60,000.  Note there are scenarios based on the number of amateurs and professionals that make the cut that less than the full advertised male and female purses are paid out.  In the event more than 25 golfers in a single category make the tournament cut (i.e. more than 25 female amateurs or more than 25 female professionals), each position after 25th place is worth $50 less than the previous spot for professionals and a fixed amount of $100 for amateurs.   

Any remaining funds following distribution of the male and female purses shall be used at the discretion of the Tournament Committee.

No prize money will be awarded to players missing the cut.

 

Top 3 Male and Female Amateurs - will also receive keeper trophies from Mill Creek Studios.

Overall Low Male will receive an exemption to the final qualifying round for the 2025 RBC Canadian Open

Low Male Amateur will receive exemptions to the PGA Tour America's 2024 ATB Classic in Edmonton, AB June 24 – June 30th, 2024, and 2024 Canadian Men’s Amateur.

Low Female Amateur will receive an exemption into the 2024 Canadian Women's Amateur.

Overall 1st and 2nd Place Female Finishers will each receive an exemption into the 2024 CPKC Women’s Open in Calgary, AB July 23-28, 2024.
