As was the case last season, we will be hosting one of the three sites on a different date. While Western G&CC will host on Monday, May 13, Grosse Ile G&CC and Oakhurst G&CC will host on Monday, May 20. Upon registration, players will be able to select their site and date preference to allow for planning.

Because of the high popularity of this tournament, registration is NOT conducted on a first-come, first-served basis. Rather, you must register within the registration window to be placed in the lottery for a course assignment.

Should there be more entries within the window than spots available in the field, a waiting list will be created. Team index and time of registration within the window will have no bearing on your likelihood of getting into the field. The only team guaranteed a spot in the field will be the defending champions. In recent years, no registered teams have been left out of the field.

The lottery for site assignment will take place after the registration window has closed.

 

Who: This is a team championship. One team member must have reached his 55th birthday before May 13, 2024, and have a GAM/USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 7.4. The second team member must have reached his 25th birthday before May 13, 2024, and have a GAM/USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 5.4. Both team members must be individual male members of the GAM at the time of entry and have up-to-date GAM/USGA Handicap Indexes. THE COMBINED TEAM INDEX MUST NOT EXCEED 12.8.

Format: This competition is a 36 - hole competition. One 18-hole round will be Four-Ball Stroke Play in the Rules of Golf (Rule 23). In Four-Ball Stroke Play, two competitors play as partners, each playing his own ball. The lower gross score of the partners is the team score for the hole. (This form of play is often referred to as “Best Ball.”) The other 18 holes will be played in Foursomes. In this form of play two competitors play as partners and play one ball (alternate shot.) THIS IS NOT A NET COMPETITION. SENIORS AND MID-AMS WILL PLAY DIFFERENT YARDAGES.
