USGA Rules govern play. The following local rules supplement those on the back of the Official Scorecard and the NJSGA Conditions of Competition ‘Hard Card’. Any local rules on a club scorecard should be disregarded.
- TIME OF STARTING – Note under Rule 6-3 & Optional Condition 1 in Appendix 1 are in effect.
- DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES ARE PERMITTED (DECISION 14-3/0.5). See details in Rule 14-3, Appendix 1, and the NJSGA’s clarification on such devices. Note: Devices which possess functionality in addition to distance measuring are PROHIBITED. PLAYERS ARE SUBJECT TO DISQUALIFICATION FOR BREACH OF RULE.
- GROUND UNDER REPAIR:
- CUT TURF / SOD SEAMS – Through the green, seams of cut turf (not the turf itself) are GUR. If a ball lies in or touches the seam or the seam interferes with the area of intended swing, a player may proceed under Rule 25-1.
- French Drains are deemed to be Ground Under Repair (25-1).
- HOLE # 4 – DROPPING ZONES: As an additional option under Rule 25-1, a player may (without penalty) drop a ball in the nearest of the three dropping zones for a ball which comes to rest in the Ground Under Repair.
- HOLES # 12 & 15 – DROPPING ZONES: As an additional option under Rule 25-1, a player may (without penalty) drop a ball in the nearest of the six dropping zones for a ball which comes to rest in the Ground Under Repair.
- Out of Bounds is defined by white stakes, white lines, and boundary fences. No relief permitted from a boundary fence. Where a boundary fence defines O/B, it does so at the inside points of the fence posts at ground level.
- The practice range is OUT OF BOUNDS, defined by white stakes and the inside (course side) edges of the telephone poles at ground level (nearest Hole 9).
- The parking lots and driveway are OUT OF BOUNDS, defined by the course side edge of the pavement.
- ARTIFICALLY SURFACED ROADS / PATHS INCLUDING CURBING (i.e. wooden) ARE IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS.
- WHITE-LINED AREAS WHICH TIE INTO THESE ROADS / PATHS are part of the road/path (Rule 24-2).
- Flowerbeds or planted areas which are surrounded by a cart path are deemed to be part of the path (Rule 24-2).
- Permanent structures, i.e. retaining walls or bulkheads within the margins of water and lateral hazards are INTEGRAL PARTS OF THE GOLF COURSE; no relief.
- WOOD CHIPS AND MULCH – are loose impediments.
- EMBEDDED BALL THROUGH THE GREEN – Local Rule in Appendix 1 shall be in effect.
- STONES IN BUNKERS ARE MOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 24-1).
- DISCONTINUANCE OF PLAY – All conditions under Rule 6-8 and the corresponding note in Appendix 1 shall be in effect. All practice areas will be closed during the suspension of play for a dangerous situation until the Committee has declared them open; a player using a practice area is subject to disqualification. In the event of suspension, a dangerous situation shall be signaled by one prolonged air horn blast. All other types of suspension shall be signaled by three short air horn blasts and players shall be verbally informed by the Committee. Resumption of play signaled by one air horn blast.
Format: Individual Strokeplay Net – Stableford Scoring
Each player his/her own ball and receives 1 point for net bogey, 2 points for net par, 3 points for net birdie, 4 points for net eagle, and 5 points for net double eagle. It is 0 points for anything net double bogey and above - if you can´t score better than NET DOUBLE BOGEY, you pick your ball up and head to the next tee - NO PENALTY.
