TOURNAMENT DATE: Monday, Aug. 26 -Tuesday, Aug. 27.

LODGING: The Highlands at Harbor Springs

 

PRACTICE ROUND: Please contact the golf shop for availability, (231) 529-4653.  Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as GAM Women’s Senior Championship contestants. Rates and availability are at the discretion of the host facility.

 

GAM DRESS CODE: Shirts with collars and sleeves are required. Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted.  Players are expected to adhere to the dress code.

 

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, if a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS, the player is in breach of Rule 4.3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round.

 

CADDIES/CARTS: Use of motorized cart is mandatory for all players. Only two carts per group for players only. Caddies are not permitted in this Championship. Spectator carts are only permitted if a request, accompanied by a doctor’s note confirming the spectator’s need for a cart, is submitted to the GAM at least two days before the competition. Requests and doctor’s notes can be submitted to tournaments@gam.org and doctor’s notes can also be faxed to (248) 478-5536 attn: GAM Tournament Dept. Spectator carts may not be available if the host facility’s fleet is entirely used by players, staff, and volunteers.

 

FOOD:  A complimentary lunch will be provided on both days of the competition.

 

PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players before play on each day of the competition. The driving range will be open one hour before the first tee time.

 

PLAYOFF: A tie for the Championship only will be determined by a sudden-death playoff immediately after the final scores have been posted.  All other ties will be broken by the scorecard playoff that is used and recommended by the USGA. It is the player’s responsibility to be ready to play when called to the tee.

 

PRIZES: The winner of the Championship Flight will have her name engraved on the Sara Wold trophy. In all flights, prizes will be awarded to the low gross and the low net finishers in each flight based on the total number of entries.

 

WITHDRAWAL:  If you must withdraw, please notify the GAM by e-mailing tournaments@gam.org. If you must withdraw within 24 hours of the competition, please contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242 ext. 124. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
