Format:
Two 18-hole stipulated rounds of individual stroke play. Play will be from the USGA Tee Markers wherever they are situated (see Yardages). The low individuals will advance to the U.S. Amateur Championship at Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, California on August 13-19, 2019. Any play-offs will take place immediately after the conclusion of play for the last spot and two alternate positions.
Competition Schedule:
Starting times will start at 7:30/7:35 AM (Round 1) and 12:30/12:35 PM (Round 2) off of holes #1 and #10. See the Pairings and Starting Times tab for starting times. Please be at your assigned tee at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time.
Practice Round Information:
Contestants are provided one complimentary practice round. Green fee for additional practice rounds is $65. Please call the Pro Shop to schedule a practice round. Cart fee is $30. Practice rounds available to CONTESTANTS ONLY – no guest play permitted.
Cart Information:
Automotive transportation is prohibited. Players and caddies must walk. Pull carts are permitted. SPECTATOR CARTS ARE PROHIBITED.
Caddies:
Caddies are permitted; however, there are no caddies available at Green Valley Country Club.
Practice Balls:
Provided for players prior to and following competition round at no cost. The practice range will open at 6:30 AM.
Payment Information:
Credit Cards and reciprocal club charge are accepted for all club purchases (golf shop and food and beverage).
Food and Beverage Information:
Terrace restaurant will be open at 7:00 AM-3:00 PM. Pool snack bar will be open at 11:00 AM.
Withdrawals:
Entrant who wishes to withdraw from Qualifying must notify the USGA (908-326-1950 or via e-mail at champs@usga.org) and the NCGA prior to their scheduled qualifying round. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from future USGA competitions. Players that fail to notify the NCGA prior to their starting time will be listed as No Shows.
Refunds:
In the event of injury or illness, contact the USGA at 908-326-1950 for a refund prior to August 13, 2018. No refunds will be issued after August 13, 2018. A $35 service charge will be deducted from all refunds.
ADDITIONAL RULES INFORMATION
Rules Information:
The Rules of Golf effective January 2016 are in effect and are supplemented by the 2018 USGA Hard Card. The Committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed at the qualifying site. It is the player’s responsibility to know the conditions of the competition.
Limitation of Golf Balls:
The optional condition in Appendix I known as the “One Ball” Rule is in effect. See Appendix I-B-1c (pg. 156).
Automotive Transportation:
The use of automotive transportation is prohibited for players and caddies. See Appendix I-B-8 (pg. 158).
Distance-Measuring Devices:
Optional Local Rule permitting the use of distance-measuring devices is in effect. See Appendix I-A-7 (pg. 153).
Footwear:
Shoes with traditionally-designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round. Penalty for breach of this condition: Disqualification.
Grooves Condition:
Optional condition prescribed in Decision 4-1/1 is in effect. You may check to see if your grooves are conforming by using the Informational Club Database - http://www.usga.org/InfoClubsDB/intro.html
