MEMORANDUM TO U.S. WOMEN’S AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER CONTESTANTS

 

The AWGA and the USGA are grateful to The Country Club at DC Ranch for hosting this USGA qualifying event. Please remember that we are their guests and our conduct should reflect our thanks. Field Size & Qualifying Spots

There were 53 contestants in the field at entry deadline. The top 4 contestants will qualify for the National Championship. The Qualifier will also identify 2 alternates. In the case of a tie for the final qualifying spot or either of the two alternate positions, an immediate hole-by-hole playoff will be conducted for the contestants involved.

 

Pairings & Assigned Start Times

Pairings and order of play were prepared by the USGA and start times were assigned by the AWGA. Changes to pairings or start times are not permissible for any reason. This is an 18-hole qualifier with tee times beginning at 7:00 a.m. Pairings are on the Pairings tab of this portal.

 

Use of Golf Carts

Use of automotive transportation by contestants is prohibited. Caddies may use motorized carts at a cost of $30 per player, limit of two carts per group. Push carts are available at the facility at no charge on the qualifying date. Contestants may bring their own push carts on the day of qualifying but must use course push carts for practice rounds. Spectators and guests are not permitted to ride in carts. The number of carts may be limited; if you know that you want your caddie to have a cart, please reserve one by contacting Official in Charge, Erin Groeneveld via email (click here) no later than Friday, July 13th by 4:00PM. Those who have reserved a cart will be accommodated first.

 

Practice Rounds

Contestants only, may reserve practice rounds by calling the golf shop at (480) 342-7200. The following parameters apply to scheduling practice rounds.

  • Fee: $50 plus tax for players, $30 for caddies to ride along
  • Rounds can be schedule between Tuesday, July 10th through Tuesday, July 17th.
  • Available of Times
    • Tuesday – Friday: 9:00AM – 2:00PM
    • Saturday and Sunday: 12:00PM – 1:40PM (off #1 and #10)
    • Course will be closed on Monday, July 16th
    • Tuesday, July 17th: 9:00AM – 2:30PM
  • Practice facility during practice rounds will be available from 8:00AM – 4:00PM

  1. Alternate Footwear Policy shall be in effect.
  2. The ball each contestant uses shall be named on the current List of Conforming Golf Balls issued by the USGA, and the “One-Ball Rule” shall be in effect.

Course Set up

The course shall be played from a mixed set of tees. Score card for the practice round will be available at the golf shop and is under the “Qualifying Yardages” section of this portal. The Committee reserves the right to alter the yardage based on weather and course conditions the day of the qualifying. All Local Rules will be listed on the Notice to Contestants. The USGA Hard Card will be attached with the conditions of competition.

 

Practice Facilities & Registration

All practice facilities will open at 6:00AM. The on-site registration will open at 6:00AM and will be located in the breeze way near the golf shop entrance. Players MUST check in at the Pace of Play putting clock 10 minutes prior to your assigned starting time for instructions and materials. The putting clock will be located near the 1st and 10th tee.  

 

Food & Beverage Service

The club prefers players use credit cards for purchasing food & beverage. A continental breakfast will be available for $12.95 from 6:00AM – 10:00AM. Lunch may be purchased inside the Mixed Grill. Water, ice, and snacks will be available at the 1st and 10th tees, the club house and stationed on the golf course.
