2024 Nevada State Match Play Championship

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Open to eligible male members of the NNGA and SNGA.  
  • Must be 16 years or older as of June 23, 2024. Any players not meeting the age requirement can still be considered for a spot in the field. Please submit a playing resume to Tim Brand @ Tbrand@snga.org.
  • Maximum Handicap Index of 4.0 is required to compete in this championship.


FIELD SIZE: 

  • 32 Total Players
  • 8 Exempt/Invited Players
  • Once we reach our maximum field size, players will be added to a waiting list.

 

ENTRY FEE: $270 (Includes greens fees, lunch after the round of 32, golf cart, range balls, tee gift. Including the stroke play seeding round, each player is guaranteed a minimum of 2 rounds of golf.)

 

REGISTRATION:

  • Opens for exempt players only on April 5, 2024 @ 9:00 AM PST 
  • Opens to all eligible players on April 12, 2024 @ 9:00 AM PST

 

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Registration closes on June 17, 2024 @ 5:00 PM

 

WAGR: Please note this event does count and is submitted for World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) points.

 

PROJECTED YARDAGES: Please note the yardages below are from the back tees of each hole. Each day some holes will have the tees moved up. The total yardage for each round will be approximately 7,000 - 7,200 yards.

 

 

 

SCHEDLE OF EVENTS:

  • June 23
    • Stroke Play Seeding Round (Mandatory) - Tee Times starting at approximately 2:00 PM
  • June 24
    • Morning: Match Play Round of 32 (7:30 AM Tee Times)
    • Lunch provided for all competitors following 1st round match
    • Afternoon: Match Play Round of 16 (1:00 PM Tee Times)
  • June 25
    • Morning: Match Play Quarterfinals (7:30 AM Tee Times)
    • Afternoon: Match Play Semifinals (1:30 PM Tee Times)
  • June 26
    • Match Play Finals (36-Holes) - 7:30 AM & 1:00 PM


EXEMTPIONS:

  • Semi-finalists from the previous years’ Championship (4)
  • Reigning State Amateur Champion (1)
  • Reigning State Mid Am Champion (1)
  • Reigning State Senior Am Champion (1)
  • Champions from the past five years (4)
  • Up to 3 junior player exemptions based on resumes reviewed and approved by the State Championship Committee (3)
  • Up to 2 State Committee special invitees based on playing resumes approved by the State Championship Committee (2)
  • If players are exempt in multiple categories, the additional spots can be added to the association’s selection process


SEEDING: The defending champion will automatically be seeded number 1.
The seeding for all other players will be determined by the results of the stroke play seeding round conducted the day prior to match play commencing (June 23).  


SEEDING ROUND: The seeding round is mandatory and will be used to establish seeds 2 through 32.  Entrants not participating in the seeding round will not be eligible for the match play rounds.

 

REFUND POLICY: After the established deadline for a Nevada State event, players can only receive a refund if there is a waiting list of players and a wait listed player agrees to fill that spot. Cases such as death in the family or serious illness such as hospitalization can be reviewed on a case by case basis.

NOTE: There will be an automatic $25 processing fee associated with any refund issued for a cancellation prior to the registration closing date.
