Firstly I would like to thank all the members for their generosity on the captains charity day, we had a fantastic day and raised a great amount of money for a very worth while charity we raised £2500 which will combine with the money we will raise on the ladies lunch.

In Scotland alone, it is estimated that over 90,000 people have dementia, and this means many of us will know someone living with it.

Dementia is a progressive condition that affects the brain in a variety of ways. There are many kinds of dementia but the most common is Alzheimer’s disease.

Fundraising for Alzheimer Scotland means that together we can make sure nobody faces dementia alone. And what’s more, every single penny you raise will stay in Scotland.

Your support will help people with dementia and their families in our local communities. These vital funds will help deliver support services like our Dementia Advisors and our Freephone 24 hour Dementia Helpline, as well as helping to fund dementia research.

I also have to thank our Pro Craig for his help with prizes, and also our Match Secretary and all-round Mr Fereneze David Miller for setting up the leaderboard and being on call all day to help me with any queries.

Who knows where we would be without David (prob a lot lighter on the emails I hear you say).

Next a huge thanks to Vice captain Clark Hill who was our excellent starter for the day, his banter on the tee was only matched by his attire, thanks Clark wee touch of class.

I also have to thank my wife and my mum for helping with the raffles while I was out on the course and for some fantastic home baking thanks mum.
