Webb & Reilly Record Home Win
51 teams took to the Fereneze Braes today which sees an increase on the inaugural event last year where 48 teams played. Before I get to the results we had a Hole in One to celebrate today with Jimmy McAleer from Cowglen scoring an ace at the 2nd hole.

It was home duo of Past Captain Lawrence Webb & Frank Reilly who managed to secure a home win and as you might expect with an event like this the duo dovetailed well. There was only 1 hole (4th) where they had the same score, one bettering the other at the 17 other holes. That all added up to a 9 under total of nett 62 and a 2 shot victory over another Fereneze pairing, Willie Moffat & Roland Vogt. Again both players dovetailed well and funnily enough the only hole they both had the same score at was the 4th. Willie had an excellent back 9 of 37 gross.
4 teams finished on 65. Robert Ross & Frank Divers, part of a sizeable group from Kilsyth Lennox took 3rd courtesy of an excellent back 9 of 29 nett which had 7 nett 3s. Solid stuff from another Fereneze pair John Gilchrist & Sam Cooley helped them to 4th thanks to a back 9 of 30. Kilsyth Lennox twosome Alan Henderson & Graeme Strachan managed to secure the last voucher spot courtesy of a best last 6 of 20 strokes pipping the East Kilbride/Williamwood pairing of William Campbell & Colin Campbell who covered the same holes in 21 nett shots.
