Local Rules
USGA Rules govern all play except where modified
by the following Arizona Country Club Local Rules:
· Staked Trees and Tree Wells of Staked Trees are abnormal course conditions. If staked trees or their tree wells interfere with the player’s stance or area of intended swing, relief may be taken in accordance with the procedure in Rule 16.1b. Other tree wells are not abnormal course conditions unless marked as ground under repair.
· The Oleander Area to the left of the cart path on hole #9, as defined by curbing, is considered out of bounds. Players are encouraged to hit a provisional ball if there is doubt as to whether or not a ball has been hit out of bounds. There is no dropping zone. See Rule 18.
- #9 Cart Path If you stance or sewing should be impeded by the cart path, you may utilize the nearest dropping zone.
· Immovable Obstructions Close to Putting Greens. Players may take relief under Rule 16.1b if the obstruction is on the intended line of play. The ball must be in the general area and the obstruction must be within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club-lengths of the ball. There is no such relief if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable.
· Optional Drop Zones Drop zones are available on the following holes under these under these circumstances: Ball comes to rest on the cart path left of #9 Green, ball enters the penalty area on #4, and ball enters the penalty area on #11. These will be defined by painted white circles.
· Ground Under Repair. The turf garden (between holes #12 and #13, east of the maintenance area), cultivated flowerbeds, seams of recently sodded areas, and all areas encircled by white lines are to be played as ground under repair. See Rule 16.1.
· The Halfway House and Pump House are immovable obstructions. See Rules 16.1a and 16.1b.
· Out of Bounds. The club house, the sitting wall behind hole #18 green, and any patio/curbing area attached to the club house is out of bounds. The driving range and any part of the driving range teeing area is out of bounds, defined by white stakes and rock wall curbing. See Rule 18.
* The Committee will review and decide on any issues not covered in this booklet. The final decision of the Committee shall stand and may not be appealed.
