MEMORANDUM TO U.S. WOMEN’S MID-AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER CONTESTANTS

 

The AGA and the USGA are grateful to Blackstone Country Club for hosting this USGA qualifying event. Please remember that we are their guests and our conduct should reflect our thanks. Field Size & Qualifying Spots

There were 9 contestants in the field at entry deadline. The top 3 contestants will qualify for the National Championship. The Qualifier will also identify 2 alternates. In the case of a tie for the final qualifying spot or either of the two alternate positions, an immediate hole-by-hole playoff will be conducted for the contestants involved.

 

Pairings & Assigned Start Times

Pairings and order of play were prepared by the USGA and start times were assigned by the AWGA. Changes to pairings or start times are not permissible for any reason. This is an 18-hole qualifier and final pairings will be available in the event portal no later than Monday, August 13.

 

Use of Golf Carts

Use of automotive transportation by contestants is prohibited. Caddies may use motorized carts at a cost of $22 per player, limit of two carts per group. Spectators and guests are not permitted to ride in carts.

 

Practice Rounds

Contestants only, may reserve practice rounds by calling the golf shop at (623) 707-8710. The following parameters apply to scheduling practice rounds.

  • Fee: $40 plus tax for players, $80 for guests. Caddies may ride along at no cost, unless they choose to play, at which point they can play for the guest fee of $80.
  • Practice rounds can be scheduled 5 days in advance
  • Available of Times
    • Tuesday – Thursday: after 10:00AM
    • Friday’s after 11:00AM

  1. Alternate Footwear Policy shall be in effect.
  2. The ball each contestant uses shall be named on the current List of Conforming Golf Balls issued by the USGA, and the “One-Ball Rule” shall be in effect.

Course Set up

The course shall be played from a mixed set of tees. Score card for the practice round will be available at the golf shop and is under the “Qualifying Yardages” section of this portal. The Committee reserves the right to alter the yardage based on weather and course conditions the day of the qualifying. All Local Rules will be listed on the Notice to Contestants. The USGA Hard Card will be attached with the conditions of competition.

 

Practice Facilities & Registration

All practice facilities will open at least 1 hour prior to the first tee time. The on-site registration will open 1 hour prior to the first tee time and will be in the breeze way near the golf shop entrance. Players MUST check in at registration prior to your assigned starting time for caddie wrist bands, instructions and other materials.

 

Food & Beverage Service

The club prefers players use credit cards for purchasing food & beverage. Water, ice, and snacks will be available at the 1st, the club house and stationed on the golf course.  

 

Dress Code

Golf course attire is required.
