Tournament Overview

Flights:

The flights will be comprised of the four teams. The first flight will include the first four teams with the lowest team total handicap, we will continue this system to form all the other flights for this event. The committee will break team handicap flight breaks by using the teams total index, so flight cutoffs may come down to the players indexes added together and the lowest decimal total will be the in the lower flight.

Tees:

Tournament play will be from the Blue Tournament Tees

Seniors:

Players 70 years of age and older who add their age and handicap together and the total equals 90 or more have the option to play from the senior white tees with the proper world handicap reduction to their handicap for the entire event.

Match Scoring:

All flights will use a 19 point system

  • 1 point for winning a hole
  • ½ point for tying a hole
  • 1 Bonus point for winning the 18 hole match
  • 0 points for losses

Tie Breaking System:

Ties for the divisions will be determined by:

-Sudden death playoff beginning on hole #1

                        - Head-to-Head match results (Foul Weather)

Official Scorecard:

All competitors are required by the tournament and Handicap committee to post an individual 18-hole score for each match played during the event. Scores will be posted to the ghin handicap computer by the professional staff and will be entered as a tournament score. Each match will have an official digital scorecard on golf genius. The low handicap player in each group is responsible for digitally signing and returning the completed card at the completion of each match through the golf genius app.

Match Play Rules & Reminders

Handicap Allowance:

The course handicap of all four players will be reduced to 80%, then the player with the lowest handicap will give shots off his handicap to the other three players in the match.

Different Tees:

Blue vs Senior tees.  Senior players electing to play from the white tees must adjust their handicaps before starting their match. White tee participants must take the proper world handicap reduction to their handicap.

Players Responsibility:

Rule 6-2 Before starting a match in a handicap competition the players should determine from one another their respective handicaps.  It is the players responsibility to know the holes at which handicap strokes are to be given or received.

Doubt as to procedure; Disputes and Claims:

In match play, if a doubt or dispute arises between the players, a player may make claim. If no authorization representative of the committee is available, the players must continue the match without delay. The committee may consider a claim only if the player making the claim notifies his opponent (i) that he is making a claim, (ii) of the facts of the situation and (iii) that he wants a ruling. The claim must be made before any player in the match plays from the next teeing ground or, in the case of the last hole of the match, before all players in the match leave the putting green.

Concession:

A player may concede a hole at any time prior to the start or conclusion of that hole.
