Model Local Rule E3
When any part of the players ball touches any part of the general area cut to fairway height or less the player may take relief once by placing the original ball or another ball and playing it from the relief area within 6 inches of the original ball in the general area and must not be nearer the hole.
All players please note that there are many areas of disturbed ground (abnormal course conditions) in the general area, due to storm Eowyn and subsequent remedial work. Players may take free relief from such areas according to Rule 16.1b. Seek a ruling if in doubt.
Additional Local Rules
- Any newly sodded or seeded areas (bounded by grey stakes) are No Play Zones from which free relief MUST be taken. Rule 16.1f &b. The stakes are movable obstructions.
- Bridges across penalty areas are within the penalty area.
- Where a ball lies on gravel in French drains, a player may take relief under 16.1b. Note: There is no free relief for interference with stance from this condition.
- Hole 1 & 18. A ball coming to rest on the practice area MUST be lifted and dropped, without penalty, in one of the drop zones provided and not nearer the hole.
- Holes 4 & 7: The sand/earth pile (as bounded by white line) between the 4th and 7th holes is GUR. Rule 16.1b
- Holes 6 & 7: As an additional option to Rule 16.1b, players may take free relief from the fence to the left of the 6th green in the nearby Drop Zone.
- Hole 18. On the left-hand side of the hole, the area from the right-hand edge of the cart path to out of bounds, with the exception for the red penalty area, is to be treated as an abnormal course condition from which free relief is available. Rule 16.1b.
- A ball played from the upper part of the course, crossing the public road, coming to rest on the lower part of the course, or vice versa, is Out of Bounds. Lower: holes 8 to 14. Upper: all other holes. MLR A-5.
