Bloomington, IN:   The third round got underway mid-morning, after the completion of the second round this morning, as play was suspended due to darkness last evening. Two rain delays caused round two to run over into today's completion.

Leader Lance Simpson continued his hot play and used perfect weather conditions and pure putting surfaces to forge ahead, expanding his lead to six shots through his first nine holes in round 3. His four birdies, with no bogeys, on the front nine could have even been better after a slow start, but he birdied four of the last five holes on the front nine to get things going.  The back nine was a model of consistency with nine pars for a total of four under, 67, leaving him with a five-shot margin over two players, Noah Kent and Declan O’Donovan. Noah Kent’s six birdies, two bogeys, for a round of 67 helped him to move up the leaderboard. Declan O’Donovan from Australia carded a three-under front nine but cooled a bit on the back with even par for a 68.  Both O’Donovan and Kent sit at -10 for the tournament and will play alongside Simpson in the final pairing.

The low round of the day was shot by Jack Beauchamp, who hit all 18 greens on his way to a six-under 65. Cooper Schultz’s 66 has him tied with Beachamp at -9.

Michael Weaver is the low mid-am at -4 for the tournament. He and Connor Doyal were the only two Mid-Ams to make the cut.

The final round of championship play commences at 8:00 a.m. from both the first and tenth tees.
