General Information:
The Rules of Golf as adopted by the United States Golf Association govern play.  This information sheet, the USGA Hard Card and any site-specific Local Rules and Conditions of Competition sheets are supplements to the Rules of Golf.  Local Rules of the host course do not apply.

 

Format & Qualifying Positions:
18 holes of four-ball stroke play qualifying. The number of sides to advance will be posted when it becomes available.  There will also be two (2) alternate positions available.  Should you qualify, you must accept your position and pick up the proper credentials prior to leaving the qualifying site. Any ties for the last qualifying position or alternate positions will be determined by a sudden-death playoff beginning immediately after the conclusion of play.

Wednesday, August 29, 2018 – Sectional Qualifying (18 Holes)

 

Practice Round:
Practice rounds are available on most days and times at Lyman Orchards Golf Club published rates.  To book a tee time please visit www.lymangolf.com.

 

Registration:
Players must check in at the player registration table located in front of the golf shop upon their arrival.

 

Practice Range:
The practice range will be available for your use beginning at 6:00am and is compliments of the CSGA.

 

Food & Beverage:
The restaurant at Lyman Orchards will be open for their normal business hours. Players, caddies, and spectators are responsible for any food and beverage fees incurred during their round.

 

Caddies & Transportation:
A player may carry her own bag or employ a caddie.  Players and caddies must walk at all times during the stipulated round. There are no club caddies available at the host club.  The use of push carts is permitted.

 

Distance Measuring Devices:
In Sectional qualifying and in the Championship proper, a player may obtain distance information by use of a distance measuring device. If during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. gradient, windspeed, temperature, etc.) the player is breach of Rule 14-3.

 

Course Setup:

Lyman Orchards will play to a par 72 at approximately 6,100 yards with a time par of 4 hours and 38 minutes.  This will be a combination of the white and red tees on the Jones Course with the majority being played from the white yardage.  Please note that these yardages are subject to change based on course and weather conditions.

 

Driver Heads & Golf Balls:
The optional conditions as prescribed in Appendix I of the Rules of Golf are in effect.

 

Limitation on Golf Balls:
The “One-Ball Rule” will be in effect.  See Appendix I of the Rules of Golf for more information.

 

“Groove & Punch Mark Specifications” Condition:
In Sectional Qualifying as well as in the Championship proper, the player’s clubs must conform to the groove and punch mark specifications in the Rules of Golf that are effective from January 1, 2010.  The full Condition of Competition is available for review on the entry application.
 
Cellular Phones:
The use of a cellular phone or similar device by a contestant or caddie during the stipulated round is strictly prohibited.  

 

Attire:
Proper golf attire is required at all times by players, caddies and spectators. Shorts must be Bermuda length.  Shirts must have a collar and be tucked in.  Jeans of all kinds, cargo pants/shorts, tee shirts and tank tops are prohibited.  Hats must be worn in a traditional manner.  See the championship entry form for more information.

 

Footwear:
Shoes with traditionally-designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised either entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round.  Penalty for breach of this condition is disqualification.

 

Withdrawals:
Players (not sides) needing to withdraw do NOT need to notify the USGA of your withdrawal.  Any withdrawal notification sent to the USGA will result in the withdrawal of your entire side.  An individual player is permitted to represent their entire side during sectional qualifying and the championship proper.
