Welcome to the 21st Annual SGA Championships.
This event is a National Championship for golfers who embrace the spirit of fun and enjoyment of the game and its people. It is an official golf tournament played according to the rules of golf with respect to the traditions and etiquette of the game and with an emphasis on enjoying the challenge of golf in the spirit of good sportsmanship with just a dash of socialising afterwards.
This event was founded at Palm Meadows in 2005 as The Australian Social Golf Club Championships. SGA took over the event in 2009, and in 2016 we re-branded the event to The SGA Championships.
This year is our largest-ever Championships, with more than 160 golfers taking part! We’d like to thank each of you for joining us (and notably, the many of you who have attended each year!)
With a field of this size, we have decided this year to run a split field each day. With two courses in play each day, hosting 80+ golfers each, this should result in faster round times, and a more intimate feel between players and SGA Staff. (It will also provide double the daily prize pools!). Of course, this has made the event far more complex behind the scenes. So we thank you in advance for your understanding and patience for any “growing pains” we may encounter.
We are delighted to have Palmer Gold Coast kick-off the event with our fun Ambrose Day, followed by four great Gold Coast courses for the tournament proper: The Glades, RACV Royal Pines, Lakelands GC and Palm Meadows. We are also thrilled to have Links Hope Island on board for our optional Rest-Day round.

Thanks to the generosity of these sponsors, this year we have daily prize pools at each course for both the teams competition and the individual grades. In addition, we have trophies and prizes for the best overall team scores and individual grades for the entire week.
Each year at the Presentation Dinner, we hold a raffle to win an amazing prize. This year, we are delighted to offer the winner a $2,500 voucher towards one of SGA’s range of major trips and tours we are hosting throughout 2026. The voucher can be redeemed for any of our major trips, so it represents SGA’s continuing dedication to providing value, flexibility and choice.
In this year’s raffle, we are also thrilled to include some prize vouchers to The Mission Hills Masters – Shenzhen, March 8-14, 2026. This Major Event, presented by SGA and AYM Golf Tours, was founded in 2024 and is set to be one of our most exciting overseas tournaments.
As we play the 21st year of the Championships, we are mindful of the legacy of this event: the fun that has been shared, the memories that have been created and the friendships that have been forged over the years. We extend to you a warm welcome to the 2025 SGA Championships.
