Welsh Men’s Amateur Championship – Player Information

July 28 – August 1, 2025

Whitchurch (Cardiff) Golf Club

 

Format                            

36 Holes Stroke Play. Top 32 make it through to the Championship Matchplay knockouts, the Final is 36 holes.

 

Tee Times                       

Tee times for the strokeplay rounds will be published by email and online here on Monday 21st July.

Tee times for matchplay stages will be provided after subsequent rounds.

 

Close Tee Time Request

Those staying and travelling together may submit a close tee time request for the strokeplay stages by 9am Monday 21st. We will endeavour to accommodate these as best as possible, please submit the names of all players affected.

 

Parental Consent Forms

Any player who is under the age of 18 on day one of the Championship must complete an Online Parental Consent Form. Failure to do so may result in the player being withdrawn from the Championship

 

Withdrawals                   

Players withdrawing should email competitions@walesgolf.org

 

Practice Round               

July 27^th, book online here. Please note that during the Practice Round the Semi-Finals and Final of the Men’s and Women’s Victory Shields will be taking. The Victory Shield matches will have priority where necessary, especially in any situations where extra holes are required.  

 

Practice Facilities           

On site there are two practice areas, two practice nets and a chipping and putting green. All practice areas are using your own balls

 

Caddies & Spectators      

Caddies and spectators are allowed.

 

Catering                          

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner each day. At player’s own expense.

The club will be using a BBQ for catering for the week, payments are to be made at the bar.

 

Clubhouse & Pro Shop    

Open 1 hour prior to the start of each day’s play

 

Wales Golf Hard Card      

2025 Wales Golf Hard Card is available online here. A copy will also be displayed on the competition noticeboard in the clubhouse.

On-course Championship Information and Scoring

Scorecards, Pin Positions and Local Rules to be collected at the 1^st tee from the starter each morning. Live scoring to be completed by the players (one in each group) via smart phones.
