How do I register for LL on a weekly basis?

 

  • You will receive 3 emails on Sunday morning.  Choose the email that corresponds with the time slot you want to play (18-hole morning group (golf members only), 18-hole PM group, or 9-hole evening group.  Respond PLAYING to that email.  You will be able to sign up 10-days in advance for the upcoming league week, and registration will close at 12:00pm seven-days in advance.  

 

 

Do non-members have an account with Chronogolf?  How do they receive their prize money?

 

  • Yes, they do.  If they have not activated their account, email Scott and he will send them another link.  

 

What’s a handicap?

 

  • How many times you hit the ball on a hole is your “gross” score.
  • When your HCP (handicap) is applied, this is your “net” score.
  • A handicap is used to level the playing field.
  • A player with a 0 handicap usually scores 72 on a Par 72 course.  Awesome!  If you have a handicap of 22, you would normally shoot around a 94.  Your handicap changes and is based on your last 20 games (there’s a formula for this).  
  • Leagues and competitions use handicaps to match up players.  

 

Friendly tees can be used for games as long as the friendly tees are their normal tees.  

 

  • Friendly tees are now official tees at eQuinelle.  When you play them you enter them as your tees in Golf Genius.  One week you can play the friendly tees and the next week you can play the red.  However, if you chose the friendly tees, keep the friendly tees for the remainder of that round.

 

CTP (Closest to the Pin) markers need to go out before the first group in the morning.  

 

  • The staff shouldn’t need any reminders, but, if they are not out there, a quick call to the pro shop should get someone out there quickly.

 

Do ladies need to enter their scores in Golf Canada at the end of every round?  Is it linked to GG yet?  Are we asking them to enter both? 

 

  • This is very exciting.  Once you enter your score into Golf Genius, it is automatically synced with Golf Canada so there is no need to reenter the information.  However, this is for 9 holes only.  You must enter the other 9 into Golf Canada if you play 18-holes.  

 

If a player doesn't want to enter scores into GC will they get a handicap?  Will they get a league handicap with GG? 

 

  • You need to enter scores into GG during league play.  If someone in your foursome objects, enter a 10 for every hole.  If they get less than a 10 on a hole they should let you know.

 

What is my maximum per hole?

 

 

  • Did you know that there is a maximum of 10 strokes per hole?  When playing Net Stableford, you are not awarded points if you have more than a double bogey after you account for your NET score.  So, if you get 2 strokes (dots) on a par 5 after you reach 10, pick up your ball.  You won’t be awarded any points. 10 minus 2 for your dots leaves you with 8.  You have already surpassed a double bogey which awards 0 points. Therefore, on a Par 3, an 8 would be the maximum.  Eight minus 2 dots is 6.  You won’t be awarded any points with a net 6. 
  • Ladies with better handicaps have a lower maximum stroke per hole. If you have 1 stroke on the hole, your maximum is 3 over.  You won’t get any points after you are 3 over par.

  • When in doubt, the maximum per hole is 10.

    Always enter your actual number of strokes.  Golf Genius will adjust.

 

What is the Pace-of-Play?

If you are playing 18 holes, you should finish your round in less than 4 hours and 15 minutes and half that time if you are playing 9 holes.  Everyone should play ready golf from the tees (except to honour anyone who gets a birdie!). While never getting ahead of the next player to shoot, walk quickly to your ball and prepare for your next shot. Hit your ball if you are ready and it is safe. If your group is falling behind, you need to make every effort to close the gap between your group and the next group. Have fun out there ladies and don’t forget to try your best to keep up with the group ahead of you!

 

Additional important items to remember:

 

  • If you don’t get one of the morning spots you will automatically get the first PM spots.  No further action is required.  If you get bumped from the afternoon spots you will automatically get the first 9-hole spots.  The staff will be keeping a list of anyone that is bumped and in the following weeks, they will be rotated into the spot that they want.

  • To activate Chronogolf, get a new link from Scott

  • You won’t see your Credit Book button until there is money to go into it (i.e. prize money)

    • You can spend them at the pro shop for golf, carts, and merchandise.  

  • The most improved player this year will be easily identifiable since it’ll be done according to your score.  We’ll be entering scores right from the beginning.

  • VERY IMPORTANT  Make sure you know your username and password for Golf Genius!
