Annual Awards
The CCMGA golf season concludes with a flighted, 54 hole, three-day Club Championship, followed by the Annual Award Ceremony and dinner at a local restaurant. All members are encouraged to participate in the Club Championship and awards ceremony.
Player of the Year
The Player of the Year Award is one of the most coveted and difficult awards to win. Each player is awarded points for tournaments in which they participate. Players who place receive additional POY points, and tournament winners receive the maximum number of points per tournament. Two-day tournament participants, and players who place, are awarded double points. The Club Championship is awarded triple points.
Most Improved Player
The Most Improved Player is awarded to the player who most improves their index during the season by a weighted index calculation. That means a player who goes from a 4 index to a 2, is more improved than a player going from a 18 index to 16, because it is more difficult to go from a 4 index to 2, than 18 to 16. The Golf Genius software provides a function to calculate the winner by weighted index.
