Practice Round: Players may schedule a tee time by contacting the golf shop and acknowledging himself as a player in the field. Practice round fee is $25 whether players walk or ride. Official practice round date is Monday, Sepember 17. Players should contact the club to reserve a tee time (tee times will begin at 8:00)

Withdrawals:  Please advise the NEGA office immediately at (774) 430-9016 if you are unable to compete. If there is a need to contact the NEGA staff after the close of business on Monday, September 17th, please call Laura Nochta at (513) 800-7948 or reach her via email at lnochta@massgolf.org.

 

Format/Divisions: 36 holes, stroke play. No cut will be made. Players 65 years of age or older will be elligible for the Super Senior Division. Both the Overall and Super Senior Divisions will compete from the same tee/yardage.

Caddies/Automotive Transportation: Golf carts are permitted during the championship and included in the entry fee. Players are allowed caddies - note that Burlington CC don't not have caddies, so if a player elects to use one, he should provide his own. Push carts are also allowed at BCC.

 

Distance Devices:  The use of distance measuring devices is permitted.

                                                                                                                     

Starting Times/Schedule: 

        Tuesday (RD 1) - morning wave beginning at 8:00 am off of both 1 & 10, afternoon wave beginning at 12:00 pm off of both 1 & 10.

        Wednesday (RD 2) - morning wave beginning at 8:00 am off of both 1 & 10, afternoon wave beginning at 12:00 pm off of both 1 & 10.

** Players will not be required to check-in/register each day of the Championship. Players should report to their starting hole 10 minutes prior to their tee time to receive local rules, score cards, and other instructions for the day. **

 

Competition Tees/Yardage: The competition will be played from approximately GOLD tees (Approx. 6,200 yards; par 71).

 

Golf Shop and Practice Facilities:  The golf shop and practice facilities will be available at 7:00 am on the days of competition. A shuttle will be provided to take players to the driving range from the clubhouse. Carts will be staged with players names according to starting time on the front panel, these carts should NOT be taken down to the range, players should utilize the shuttle service.

 

Food and Beverage: The NEGA will provide a complimentary lunch for players only each day of competition. Lunch will be served from 11 - 3 pm Tuesday and Wednesday. The restaurant will be open and available for players, spectators, spouses, etc. Monday through Wednesday to purchase lunch off of a limited menu (cash or credit both accepted). The snack shop located on the course will also be open beginning at 8:30 am Monday - Wednesday for players to purchase snack and drinks (CASH ONLY is accepted at the snack shop).

 

Prizes: The winner will receive the Andrew C. Bailey Senior Amateur Trophy, and a gold medal. The Super Senior Division Champion will also receive a gold medal and the Super Senior Trophy. Top finishers in both the Overall and Super Senior Division will receive merchandise certificates. Merchandise certificates only redeemable at the host club.

 

Score Posting: All scores from individual stroke play events (qualifiers & championships proper) will be automatically posted to a player’s USGA Handicap Index by the NEGA staff.
