 2025 City Amateur: Match Play

 

NOTICE TO COMPETITORS AND LOCAL RULES

 

RULES--All play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf and the VSGA Standard Local Rules, except as modified by these specific tournament local rules. All play will be from the black tee markers.

 

Out of bounds (OB) is defined by white stakes or white lines. The following specific areas are considered out of bounds and marked accordingly:  Left of Hole #8 / Left of Hole #13 / Long of Hole #15 green

 

Drop Zones are provided as an additional relief option on the following holes:

Hole #9 / Hole #16 / Hole #17

 

ROUND—In case of inclement weather, if it is not practical to complete all 18 holes for either round, then the stipulated round will consist of only those holes which have been completed by all players in the field. This condition only applies if at least 9 holes have been completed by all players in either round.

 

FORMAT--The format of this competition will be 18 holes of match play.

 

PACE OF PLAY—The guideline established for pace of play shall be four hours for the stipulated round. Any group playing at a slower pace and with one hole completely open ahead of the group will be warned. If the group does not pick up time after the warning, individual timing of players may be done. After timing begins, the first bad time will be a warning to the player, a second offense will be a one stroke penalty, third offense will be a two-stroke penalty, and fourth offense will be disqualification.

 

LOST BALL—A ball is lost if not found within 3 minutes after the player begins to search for it. Please make sure that someone in the group is timing the search.

 

DROPPING ZONES--There are 3 optional ball drop zones for this tournament. Holes 9, 16, and 17 have specially marked ball drop areas for balls which enter the penalty area on these holes. The Model Local Rule E-1.1 is in effect

 

ALL ROADS AND PATHS TREATED AS OBSTRUCTIONS-- The Model Local Rule F-17 is in effect

 

PLAYOFF—Any necessary playoff will be played on the holes as determined by the tournament committee.

 

STANDARDS OF PLAYER CONDUCT—If the tournament committee considers that a player is guilty of serious misconduct, it may impose a penalty of disqualification. (Rule 1.2b)
