Format:

One 18-hole stipulated round of four-ball stroke play. Play will be from the USGA Tee Markers wherever they are situated (see Yardages). The low TWO teams will advance to the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Oregon on May 25-29, 2019. Any play-offs will take place immediately after the conclusion of play for the last spot and two alternate positions.

 

Competition Schedule:

Starting times will start at 8:00am off of Hole #1 and Hole #10. See the Pairings and Starting Times tab for starting times. Please be at your assigned tee at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time.

 

Practice Round Information:

Players should call the Sonoma Golf Club Golf Shop at 707-939-4121 to schedule a practice round. Practice rounds are available Monday-Thursday at 12:00pm on a space available basis. The practice round rate will be $75 per player inclusive of cart and range. Players should identify themselves as participants in the US Amateur Four-Ball Qualifying when making their practice round time.

 

Cart Information:

Automotive transportation is prohibited. Players and caddies must walk. Pull-carts are permitted. SPECTATOR CARTS ARE PROHIBITED.

 

Caddies:

Caddies are permitted, however, they are not available from Sonoma Golf Club.

 

Practice Balls:

Provided for players prior to and following the competition rounds at no cost. The practice range will open at 7:00am. The practice putting and chipping greens will open at sunrise.

 

Payment Information:

Cash and Credit Cards are the methods of payment accepted for all purchases (golf shop and food and beverage) at Sonoma Golf Club.

 

Food and Beverage Information:

The restaurant will be open at 6:30am. The snack bar located at hole 10 will open at 8:00am. Food will be available off the regular menu until 3:00pm, after which only the bar will be available for drinks and snacks.

 

Withdrawals:

Entrant who wishes to withdraw from Qualifying must notify the USGA (908-234-2300 or via e-mail at champs@usga.org) and the NCGA prior to their scheduled qualifying round. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from future USGA competitions. Players that fail to notify the NCGA prior to their starting time will be listed as No Shows.

 

Refunds:

In the event of injury or illness, contact the USGA at 908-234-2300 for a refund prior to May 25, 2019. No refunds will be issued after May 25, 2019. A $30 service charge will be deducted from all refunds.

 

ADDITIONAL RULES INFORMATION

 

Rules Information:

The Rules of Golf effective January 1, 2016 are in effect and are supplemented by the 2018 USGA Hard Card. The Committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed at the qualifying site. Limitation of Golf Balls:

The optional condition in Appendix I known as the “One Ball” Rule is in effect. See Appendix I.

 

Automotive Transportation:

The use of automotive transportation is prohibited for players and caddies. See Appendix I.

 

Distance-Measuring Devices:

In Sectional qualifying and in the Championship proper, a player may obtain distance information by use of a distance-measuring device. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., elevation changes, wind speed, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3.

 

Footwear:

It is a condition of the competition, including at all qualifying sites and the Championship proper, that shoes with traditionally-designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round. Penalty for breach of this condition: Disqualification.

 

Grooves Condition:
