The CGWGC procedures for Pace of Play tracking

CGWGC has a pace of policy that allows for a league day golf round time of 4:30.  Your group’s playing  position on the course is directly behind the group in front of you. Foursomes behind threesomes will be granted reasonable leeway.

  1.  Designate a timekeeper in your group.

  2. If your group’s scorecard time is more than 4:30, discuss between yourselves what happened and decide who in your group will contact the President to let her know what happened.

  3.  If your group’s scorecard time is within the 10 minute interval of the finish time of the group in front of you if they finished over 4:30, nothing needs to be done. If not, see #3 above

  4. If members are repeatedly playing in groups whose scorecard times exceed the allotted 4:30, the Pro Shop and/or the CGWGC Board will evaluate the situation, make recommendations, and/or take other appropriate steps to help encourage and/or mandate quicker play.

Maintaining Pace of Play and Picking Up/Not Holing out

CommonGround pace of play for 18 holes is 4 hours, 30 minutes. To support effective pace of play on league days, the CGWGC Board and CG Pro Shop recommend that you pick up at Par+5.

When you pick up on a hole: Put an "X" on your scorecard and in Golf Genius for any pick-up hole(s). Your round will not be DQ’d from the Ringer tournament. If the hole(s) is counted for the Game of the Day, you will not be eligible to win money for that day.

For pick-up holes, the hole score(s) posted to GHIN will be the USGA/GHIN maximum of net double bogey (Net Double Bogey = Par + 2 + handicap strokes *pops* received for the hole).

Club Championship Play: The pick-up procedure will not apply for the Club Championship as all players must hole out on every hole on both days to qualify for winnings. If you pick up in the CC, you will be DQ'd and your CC round(s) will be DQ’d from the Ringer tournament.
