Welcome to the STLDGA Salomon Parent Child Championship

The Salomon Parent Child Championship is one of the best events of the season, featuring a Male District Member and Child team competing against other teams in their flight (flights based on age of younger player).  

This year's championship is at Old Hickory Golf Club on Thursday afternoon, August 7, 2025 with a 1:00pm shotgun start followed by dinner and awards.  This year's event will be limited to the first 60 teams to register.

The Father/Son Championship dates back to 1930, while it has been referred to as the Sidney Salomon Father/Son Championship since 1963.  The event is an 18 Hole modified Alternate Shot format.  One entrant must be a male member in good standing with a member club of the STLDGA. 

Note: We have expanded the field to include in-laws, grandparent/grandchild teams as well.  In addition, we can make accommodation for a father wanting to play with two children (or grandfather/child/grandchild).  In 2021, we also expanded the field to become the Parent/Child Championship.  *** We will make tee adjustments for females playing in the championship to accommodate equitable yardages. ***

Flights are based as follows: 13 & Under; 14-15; 16-17; 18-23; 24-34; 35 and over.  The Lowest gross score for the event will be the Champions.  Any tie for the overall championship will be decided immediately by a sudden death hole-by-hole playoff.  The overall Gross Winner will receive the Sidney Salomon Traveling Trophy for one year. 

The entry fee includes golf, cart, dinner following play and gift certificates to the top finishers in each flight.
