You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes before your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter.

PRACTICE ROUND: Please contact Eagle Eye GC at (517) 903-8064 for rates and availability.  Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as Michigan Women’s Amateur contestants. Rates and availability are at the discretion of the host facility.

GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: The following Rule applies to players. In this competition, if a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS, the player is in breach of Rule 4.3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round.

STATE AMATEUR RESIDENCY: To be eligible to play in the Michigan Women’s Amateur Championship, a player must meet the GAM Residency Criteria. A player is responsible for reviewing and confirming compliance with the criteria. If you feel your Michigan residency may be in question, please contact the GAM. To ensure a thorough review, please contact the GAM at least two weeks before the entry deadline. If a residency question is presented later than that time, the GAM reserves the right to remove a player from the field at any time.

GAM DRESS CODE:  Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however, women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars.  Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted.  Players and caddies are expected to adhere to the dress code.

FOOD: Each player will receive a $30 voucher for food and non-alcoholic beverages. Gratuities are optional and not included with the use of the voucher. These can be used in the Eagle Eye grill any day during the tournament.  They are not valid after July 11 and have no cash value.  

CADDIES/CARTS: All players are required to walk. Contestants may carry their bag, use a pushcart, or use a caddie. Spectator carts are only permitted if a request, accompanied by a doctor’s note confirming the spectator’s need for a cart, is submitted to the GAM at least two days before the competition. Requests and doctor’s notes can be submitted to tournaments@gam.org, and doctor’s notes can also be faxed to (248) 478-5536 attn: GAM Tournament Dept.

PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, before play only.  The range will open one hour before the first tee time. 

WITHDRAWAL: If you must withdraw before the entry deadline, you may do so via the Golf Genius event portal. If you need to withdraw after the entry deadline, please e-mail tournaments@gam.org. Please review the GAM Withdrawal/Refund Policy.

SWEET 16 DINNER: Players who reach the Sweet 16 (win one match on Wednesday) are requested to attend the Sweet Sixteen Dinner in their honor on Wednesday, July 9. All Qualifying players are entitled to one guest, and all other guests will be charged a fee. Any player who advances to the Sweet 16 will be a guest of the GAM.  Dressy attire!!

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS (subject to change)

STROKE PLAY – 36-hole stroke-play qualifying to determine 32 players for match play.  

Monday, July 7 - First round, 18 holes, stroke play.

Tuesday, July 8 - Second round, 18 holes, stroke play.  Should there be a tie for final qualifying spots, a sudden-death playoff shall start immediately after all scores have been posted. 

MATCH PLAY – USGA General numerical draw shall be used.  The stipulated round shall be extended to as many holes as necessary for the match to be won. 

Wednesday, July 9 - Round of 32, 18 holes. Tee times run 8:00 – 10:15 a.m.

Thursday, July 10                   

AM – Round of 16, 18 holes
PM – Round of 8, 18 holes

Friday, July 11            

AM – Semifinal matches, 18 holes.
PM – Final Match, 18 holes
