The Gareth Bale Championship – Player Information

20th and 21st September
Format
54 Holes Stroke Play. 36 holes day 1 on the Roman Road, 18 holes day 2 on the Montgomerie. There is no cut.
Tee Times
Rounds 1 and 2 are published online here and emailed to players. This day will be a two tee start from Holes 1 and 10, please note that those starting on Hole 1 for Round 1 will then start on Hole 10 for Round 2 and vice versa.
Round 3 will be published after the completion of round 2. Players will go out in reverse standing order.
Parental Consent Form
It is a requirement for a parental consent form to be completed for each participant which can be completed by clicking here. If this is not completed by Friday 19th September, you may be withdrawn from the event.
This form also contains an option for choosing a walk-out song to be played on the 1st tee for Round 3. Wales Gold reserve the right to choose a different song if we deem the choice unsuitable then we will choose a different one. If no song is chosen by Friday 19th, then a generic song will be played.
Registration
Players MUST register at the golf academy before play on Saturday 20th September. This will be open from 6:30am. Players will receive a goody bag.
There will be no need to re-register on Sunday for your round, everything will be on the tee.
Withdrawals
We have an extensive Reserve List for this tournament, if you can no longer attend this event please let us know at the earliest convenience so that we can notify the next available reserve. Players withdrawing should email competitions@walesgolf.org

On-course Championship Information and Scoring
Live scoring to be completed by the players (one in each group) via smart phones. Players are encouraged to download the Golf Genius app from your app store in advance.
Practice Round
There is no official practice day. Rounds can be booked through Celtic Manor direct by calling 01633 41055 or by emailing golfconcierge@celtic-collection.com and quoting the code 'GARETHBALE25' and will be at a Members Guest Rate.
To maximise tee time usage any bookings will be paired with others to create fourballs, due to safeguarding any player booking a practice round must be accompanied by a parent/carer (the parent/carer may play as well, also at a members guest rate).
Practice Facilities
The bottom tier of the driving range is reserved for players. One basket per player will be free of charge. There are two putting greens and a chipping green located to the right of the golf academy.

Pull Trolleys and Electric Trolleys are available to hire. Please book direct with Celtic Manor by calling 01633 410551
Buggies
Spectators are not permitted use of buggies for this event. Any queries around buggies please email competitions@walesgolf.org, any buggies booked with The Celtic Manor that are then denied to be used by Wales Golf or prior to receiving permission from Wales Golf may still be charged.

Catering
Monty’s will be open for players from 7am at the players own expense. This will also be open throughout the days of the event.
Lunch will be provided for players on Saturday between rounds in the Julia Suite in the main clubhouse.

Presentation
Prize presentation following the conclusion of play on Sunday 21st September where Gareth Bale will be in attendance. Prizes for Leading Boy, Leading Girl, top 3 competitors and best net as well as Longest Drive and Nearest the Pin. It would be great to see as many of you there as possible!
