Welcome to the 2025 ATLANTIC SENIOR BEST BALL
Welcome to the 2025 Atlantic Senior Best Ball. We are pleased to host what promises to be an enjoyable and competitive event, featuring a strong field of participants and a golf course in excellent condition. Please review the following important information regarding the tournament:
Format
The Atlantic Senior Best Ball (ASBB) is a two-person best ball competition. Both players on a team play each hole, and the lowest gross score of the two is recorded on the scorecard.
The tournament will be divided into three flights, based on the lowest handicap index of the two team members. Handicap indexes will be verified as of Monday, June 2. We kindly ask that all players confirm their current index with Ryan or Anne upon checking in for their practice round.
Rules of Play
-
All play will be from the White Tee Markers.
-
Please disregard all sensitive dune habitat signs for the duration of the event.
-
Areas marked as Ground Under Repair are to be treated in accordance with standard rules:
-
These areas are considered unfit for play, and relief may be taken without penalty.
-
Relief must be taken at the nearest point of full relief (stance) plus one club length, no nearer the hole.
-
The ball must be dropped from knee-height.
-
If the player is still standing in the Ground Under Repair area after dropping, the ball must be dropped again.
-
Once a ball is dropped and there is no interference, the ball is in play.
-
While relief is permitted, it is not mandatory—players may choose to play from the area unless otherwise restricted by the committee or golf course.
-
-
Penalty Areas are defined by colored stakes.
-
In the event of a tie for the Overall Champion, a sudden-death playoff will commence on Hole 15.
-
All other ties will be resolved using retrogression (best last 9, 6, 3, or final hole).
-
Pace of Play: We aim for rounds not exceeding 4.5 hours. To maintain pace, we kindly ask players to pick up if they are out of the hole.
-
All decisions made by the Tournament Committee are final.
Practice Round
Entry gifts will be available for collection at check-in on Monday.
Competitive Rounds
Both competition days will feature an 8:30 AM shotgun start. Golf carts will be labeled with player names and parked near the clubhouse; keys will be distributed shortly before tee time.
-
The draw for Tuesday will be posted on the official event website (see below) Monday afternoon.
-
The Wednesday draw will be released immediately following Tuesday’s round.
