Meadows Women’s Golf Association 9-Hole League Frequently Asked Questions

1. When do we play and how early is the first tee time?

The league plays on Tuesday mornings May-October and tee times are determined by sunrise. We work with the Pro Shop to get out as early as possible. During the first 2-3 weeks in May, the earliest tee times are 7:15. As the weeks progress tee times move to 6:15 or earlier. In the fall they move back towards 7:30.

2. How long does it take to play a round?

Pace of play is very important. The first two groups usually finish in 2 hours or less. Subsequent groups should finish in 2.25 hours. Each group should be half a hole behind the preceding group. ALL golfers should play “ready golf,” which means hitting when ready, not by order of distance to the hole.

3. Can I always play in the first tee time or with my friend?

Players may make time and player requests. We do our best to accommodate you, but not all requests can be fulfilled every week. First tee time slots will rotate among those who request them.

4. What does the membership fee cover?

It covers Colorado Golf Association dues, GHIN handicap access, and weekly prizes and events.

5. Greens fees? Are they covered in the membership fee?

No. Players pay $23 ($18 for seniors) weekly for their round. (subject to change)

6. What is the GHIN?

The Golf Handicap and Information Network (GHIN) lets golfers post scores and calculate handicaps. Visit GHIN.com.

7. I need to cancel, what should I do?

Before Friday 10:00 PM, contact Tee Time Chair Kaci Imus. From Saturday through Tuesday morning, call the Meadows Pro Shop (303-409-2250). One no-call/no-shows result in an $20 fine payable before playing again.

8. I’m having a really bad hole, should I pick up my ball?

Yes, after 10 shots on a hole, pick up and mark "10 and P/U" on your scorecard. Exception: do not pick up during tournaments.

9. If I’m not sure about a golf rule or etiquette, what should I do?

Ask others in your group. It’s how we learn.

10. I played a round at another course. What do I do?

Log on to GHIN.com and post your score hole-by-hole, regardless of score.

11. What is the PUTT POT?

Note each hole with more than 2 putts and deposit 10 cents per extra putt in the "putt pot."
