Championship Details

Date: July 15-20, 2025

Location: Sunriver Resort| Sunriver, Ore.

Courses: Meadows & Woodlands

Entry Fee: $280 (USD)

Entry Includes: Complimentary green fee for one practice round, two rounds of stroke play qualifying, match play rounds for the 64 players who qualify, tee gift, retail shop credit, range balls, crystal awards for medalist and top eight finishers.

Entry Deadline: Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 12:00 p.m.

Eligibility: Entries are open to male amateur golfers who: (1) have an up-to-date USGA Handicap Index or Golf Canada Handicap Factor not exceeding 4.4, and (2) are members in good standing of a PNGA Member Association (AGA, BC Golf, IGA, MSGA, OGA, WA Golf) or have received a Presidential Invitation.

Presidential Invitations: Presidential Invitations may be extended to individuals who are not PNGA members. Requests for Presidential Invitations must be submitted via email to championships@thepnga.org by June 24, 2025. All requests must include a golfing resume outlining major accomplishments.

Field Limit: Field will be limited to 156 qualified entrants. At the close of entry, the field of 156 will be filled by the lowest USGA Handicap Indexes and Golf Canada Handicap Factors in addition to exempt players and Presidential Invitees. A list of registered participants with handicap index is available on the event portal HERE.

Registered players who do not make the field of 156 will be placed on a waitlist based on handicap index at the close of entries. A full refund will be issued to all players who do not make the championship field.

Format:

  • Stroke Play: 36-hole stroke play to determine 64 qualifiers for match play. A tie for lowest qualifying scorer or last qualifier’s place will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off.

Only the low 64 qualifiers will advance to match play

  • Match Play: A draw based on qualifying scores will be used. Ties in qualifying rounds will be decided by a blind draw, except that places of those participating in a play-off will be determined by performance in the play-off.

Schedule:

  • Round 1 – Tuesday, July 15: 18-hole stroke play (Woodlands)
  • Round 2 – Wednesday, July 16: 18-hole stroke play (Meadows)
  • Round of 64 – Thursday, July 17: 18-hole match play (Meadows)
  • Round of 32 – Friday, July 18: 18-hole match play (Woodlands)
  • Round of 16 – Friday, July 18: 18-hole match play (Woodlands)
  • Quarterfinal – Saturday, July 19: 18-hole match play (Meadows)
  • Semifinal – Saturday, July 19: 18-hole match play (Meadows)
  • Final – Sunday, July 20: 36-hole final match (Woodlands & Meadows)

Practice Round: All players will be allowed one practice round on the Meadows Course with complimentary green fees prior to the championship. A $30 cart fee is mandatory for the practice round on the Meadows Course. Practice Rounds on the Woodlands course will be available to players for a discounted rate of $150. Player may not schedule their practice round until after entries have closed and the field is set. 

Caddies: A player may provide his own caddie. Host club caddies will not be available.

Carts: The Local Rule prohibiting the use of motorized transportation as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect.

As a general rule, players and their caddies must walk the course at PNGA Championships. But consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a disabled player or caddie may be permitted to use a golf cart as an accommodation to his or her disability. As required by the ADA, the PNGA will evaluate such requests on a case-by-case basis. Exemptions: All past PNGA Men’s Amateur Champions; 2024 PNGA Men’s Amateur Runner-up, Bryden Brown; Semifinalists, Derek Lekkerkerk and Charlie Olson; Quarterfinalists, Jake Slocum, Brody Marconi, Baylor Larrabee, Kristof Panke. Other exempt players: Andrew Lawson, Andrew Von Lossow, Rick Corkill, Darren Kuhn, Paul Hogben, Wheaton Ennis, Mason Ho, Max Herendeen, Cooper Humphreys, Nate Smith, Liam Clancy, Kade McDonough, Zach Foushee, Cole Rueck, Dane Huddleston, Chaz Aurilla.
