FIELD LIMIT

Field will be limited to 72 qualified entrants. At the close of entry, the field of 72 will be filled by the lowest USGA Handicap Indexes and Golf Canada Handicap Factors in addition to exempt players and Presidential Invitees.

 

ENTRY DEADLINE

Entry applications, along with the appropriate fee, must be completed or received by the PNGA by 12:00 p.m. (PST) on Monday, July 14, 2025.

 

REFUND POLICY

Refunds due to cancellation before the close of entry are subject to a $10 service charge. After the close of entry and up until round one pairings are released, players who withdraw for any reason will be refunded 50% of the entry fee. No refund for any reason will be issued after round one pairings have been released.

 

COURSE YARDAGE

Course yardage is subject to change based on weather/course conditions. Hole-by-hole yardages are posted on the championship portal and will be emailed to players. Course Yardage: 6,302, par-72
 

ONSITE REGISTRATION

All contestants must register in person with the PNGA at Salish Cliffs Golf Club prior to starting round one play. Registration will be located outside the golf shop during the following times:

SUNDAY, AUGUST 3: 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

MONDAY, AUGUST 4: 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.       

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS

Round one and two starting times (stroke play qualifying) will be released on Monday, July 28th. Preferred starting time requests will not be accepted. Starting times will be posted on the PNGA website (thepnga.org), on the championship portal and will be emailed to each player.

 

SCHEDULE

STROKE PLAY: 36-hole stroke play to determine the low 32 qualifiers for match play. A tie for the last qualifying place will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off after the final group finishes on Tuesday, August 5.

 

MONDAY, AUGUST 4 (Round 1): Starting times from 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 5 (Round 2): Starting times from 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

 

MATCH PLAY: A draw based on qualifying scores will be used. Ties in qualifying rounds will be decided by a blind draw, except that places of those participating in a play-off will be determined by performance in the play-off.

 

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 6 (Round of 32): Starting times from 7:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 6 (Round of 16): Starting times from 1:00 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 7 (Quarterfinals): Starting times from 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 7 (Semifinals): Starting times from 1:00 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 8 (Finals): Starting time at 7:30 a.m.

 

PRACTICE ROUND

Contestants may play one complimentary practice round before the championship. Players must pay the $25 cart fee for the practice round. Practice rounds will be available on Sunday, August 3 from 12:10 p.m. – 12:20 p.m., 1:10 p.m. – 1:20 p.m., 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. for out of town contestants. Local contestants can play their practice rounds in the two weeks prior to the championship, Monday-Thursday after 2:00 p.m. All practice round starting times are at the discretion of the golf shop staff. Tee times must be made by calling the golf shop at (360) 462-3673 beginning July 22nd after the field has been established. Players may not book a hosted practice round online or before this date.

 

FOOD SERVICE

The Salish Grille will be open each day from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with Breakfast and Lunch items. Additional drinks and snacks will be available in the pro shop throughout the week.

 

BOTTLED WATER

The PNGA will provide bottled water during the championship. Coolers will be at multiple locations on the golf course. A beverage cart will not be on the course during play. 

 

METHODS OF PAYMENT

Salish Cliffs Golf Club accepts all major credit cards as methods of payment.

 

HOURS OF OPERATION

The golf shop and driving range will be 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day.

 

RANGE BALLS

PNGA will provide contestants with warm-up range balls prior to each round, which is included in the course usage fee. Players can only warm up on the range no more than 45 minutes before their starting time. If players wish to practice after their round they must pay the range fee in the golf shop.

 

CARTS

Carts will be required for participants to ride each day of the championship. The cart fee will be collected by the PNGA during registration for the duration of the championship. (NOTE: The PNGA will be enforcing a “One Seat” Cart Policy that will be in effect for the Master-40 Amateur Championship. The full policy is available online HERE.) Once players advance to match play, they will have their own cart and the “One Seat” Cart Policy will be amended.

 

SPECTATOR CARTS

To provide an equal championship platform for all competitors, the use of carts by spectators is not permitted by the PNGA. 

 

PULL CARTS

Players must ride during the championship, so there will be no pull cart available.  

 

CHAMPIONSHIP ACCOMMODATIONS FOR DISABLED SPECTATORS

The PNGA is committed to providing an enjoyable spectator experience for people with disabilities at PNGA championships. Requests from spectators seeking transportation onto the golf course due to a permanent disability, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), should be submitted one week in advance to the PNGA Championship Department. While spectator carts may not always be available at each site, the PNGA will make every effort to accommodate these requests when available.

 

Generally, an ADA covered disability is defined as a “physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of the individual”. See, 42 USCA §12102. Spectators with a “temporary” injury or impairment that is not an ADA disability will not be allowed use of a golf cart under this Policy.

CADDIES

Caddies are permitted, but Host Club caddies will not be available. Contestants may provide their own caddie.

 

PRIZES
The Champion, Runner-up, Semifinalists, Quarterfinalists, and the stroke play qualifying Medalist will all receive crystal awards. In the event of a tie for Medalist honors, duplicate awards will be awarded and seeding will be determined randomly.

        

Awards will be also given to any contestant who scores a hole-in-one or eagle during the stroke play qualifying rounds. 

 

AWARDS PRESENTATION

An awards presentation will take place on the putting green immediately following the completion of the final match on Friday, August 8.

 

EXEMPTIONS

The champion of the Men’s Master-40 Amateur Championship will receive a lifetime exemption into the PNGA Men’s Master-40 Amateur Championship.

 

PERFORMANCE POINTS

Performance points may be awarded for the PNGA Men’s Master-40 Amateur Championship through the player’s respective state or provincial association.

 

GHIN SCORE POSTING

The PNGA will post competition scores during stroke play qualifying for all players to the USGA GHIN System. Players should post their adjusted match play scores.

 

STROKE LIMIT POLICY

Players must return a score within 12 strokes of the course rating in at least one of the two stroke play qualifying rounds. Failure to do so will disqualify the player from entering the PNGA Men’s Master-40 Amateur Championship for a minimum of one year.

 

DRESS CODE

Players and caddies must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing while on host club property. The PNGA Dress Code Policy is available at the following link: thepnga.org/championship-home/championship-policies/ and will be provided to all players, along with any additional measures required by the host club, in the Player Memorandum.

 

CODE OF CONDUCT

The PNGA expects all contestants, caddies, gallery, and guests to exhibit proper conduct and behavior on the golf course and anywhere on club property during a PNGA Championship. Unbecoming conduct or behavior may be grounds for immediate disqualification, at any time, from any PNGA event. The following are some examples of unbecoming conduct or behavior:

 

  • Repeated use of loud, abusive, and/or profane language
  • Throwing and/or breaking equipment (club, ball, etc.) in anger or frustration
  • Damaging host club, PNGA, and/or fellow contestant property
  • Public criticism or verbal abuse of host club, officials, volunteers or staff, and/or PNGA volunteers, staff or fellow contestants
  • Potential endangerment of others
  • Intentionally violating stated club policy
  • Violation of PNGA Dress Code and/or Footwear Policy
  • Other conduct deemed unbecoming

 

The Committee in charge of the competition shall be the sole judge of determining Conduct Code violations.

 

UNOFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL

During play of the championship, a competitor who withdraws must notify PNGA staff and fill out a withdraw form. Entrants who unofficially withdraw (by not notifying PNGA staff or without having sufficient reason to withdraw) will not be granted entry into any future PNGA championship for a minimum of two years.

 

PACE OF PLAY POLICY

Players should be familiar with the PNGA’s Pace of Play Policies for both stroke play and match play.

 

LOCAL RULES AND TERMS OF THE COMPETITION

Players should be familiar with the PNGA’s 2025 Local Rules and Terms of the Competition, which will be in effect at all championships.

 

PROHIBITED USE OF AUDIO EQUIPMENT

Rule 4.3 is modified in this way: During a round, a player is not allowed to use an electronic device to listen to music or other audio (such as podcasts or the like), including by using speakers, headphones or earbuds. Penalty for breach of Local Rule - see Rule 4.3.
