TOURNAMENT DATES: Monday-Tuesday, August 18-19

 

TEE TIME: You should arrive at your assigned tee at least ten (10) minutes before your scheduled starting time for instructions from the starter. In the event of a shotgun start, arrive at your assigned 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.

PRACTICE ROUND:  Please contact the golf shop at (810) 686-0211 for rates and availability.  Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as Michigan Net Amateur contestants. Rates and availability are at the discretion of the host facility.

 

GAM DRESS CODE: Shirts with collars and sleeves are required; however, women may wear collarless shirts with sleeves or sleeveless shirts with collars.  Neither tank tops, tee shirts, short shorts, gym shorts, cut-offs, bathing suits nor denim pants/shorts are permitted.  Players and caddies are expected to adhere to the dress code.

 

FOOD:  Lunch will be available for players only on both days of the tournament. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase at the clubhouse.

 

HANDICAPS: Per the World Handicap System recommendation for the stroke play format, all players will receive 95% of their course handicap for the competition. Handicap indexes for the competition will be established on the day most administratively practical for the GAM. Handicap indexes and course handicaps will not be altered between rounds.

 

CADDIES/CARTS:  Caddies are not permitted in this Championship. Automotive transportation is mandatory in this championship. NOTE: Only competitors may ride in the players’ carts. Spectator carts are only permitted if a request, accompanied by a doctor’s note confirming the spectator’s need for a cart, is submitted to the GAM at least two days before the competition. Requests and doctor’s notes can be submitted to tournaments@gam.org and doctor’s notes can also be faxed to (248) 478-5536 attn: GAM Tournament Dept. Spectator cart availability is subject to the size of the fleet at the host facility.

 

PRACTICE RANGE:  Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, before play only.  The driving range opens an hour before the first tee time.

 

GPS & RANGE FINDERS: In this competition, if a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS, the player is in breach of Rule 4.3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round.

 

PLAYOFF: In the event of a tie for the Championship, a three-hole net aggregate playoff will begin after all scores are posted. All other ties will be broken by scorecard playoff using the USGA Tiebreaker Method.

 

PRIZES: Prizes will be awarded to the Champion and Runner-Up

 

WITHDRAWAL:  If you must withdraw, please notify the GAM by e-mailing tournaments@gam.org. If you must withdraw within 24 hours of the competition, please contact the GAM office at (248) 478-9242 ext. 124. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future GAM competitions.
