Governor’s Trophy 

Date: Thursday May 22nd, Friday May 23rd, and Saturday May 24th 

Format: Round-robin Four ball match play.  Teams will be flighted according to team index.  27 holes on Friday and 18 holes on Saturday plus the shootout.  The top team in each flight will participate in the Shootout, to be held on #9 North immediately following Round 5 on Saturday afternoon.  Family and friends are welcome and encouraged to attend the Shootout. 

Handicaps: 90% handicap. Gold tee adjustment allowed if a particular participant meets the age/ handicap requirement.  Additionally, if partners have an adjusted course handicap of more than 8 strokes, a reduction of 10% of each player’s handicap will be applied. Handicaps will be pulled approximately a week prior to play to allow the Professional Staff time to prepare. Please note: the entire event will be played with the same index.

Field Size: 240 players, 20 flights

Pace of Play Expectation: Matches should be played in 2 hours, 15 minutes on Friday.  Saturday shotgun rounds are expected to be played in 2 hours, 30 minutes. The Tournament Committee/ Professional Staff appreciates your cooperation and attention to pace of play. Additionally, please turn your scorecards in to the Professional Staff immediately following the conclusion of your match.

Prizes: Pari-mutuel betting will take place Thursday during the Champions Dinner. Prizes will be paid out in cash based off flight winners, flight runners-up and closest to the Pin winners.  Flight winners also receive a winning gift, and the Overall Champions also receive a Champions gift.

Champions Dinner: Thursday May 22nd at 6:00pm, Bassett Ballroom. Dinner attire requires a blazer and pants. Raffle and Pari-mutuel!

Starting Time:  Tee times beginning at 7:30 Friday, 8:30am shotgun Saturday.  

Registration: Registration opens online April 1st for priority membership classifications (A, J, L, SR and SR+) Registration deadline is Sunday April 6th at 5pm.  240 players will be accommodated. Should the priority registration period exceed 240 participants, a weighted blind draw will be held to determine entry and order of waitlist. Non-priority registration (NR, C, B) will begin 4/7 and will either fill out the field or create an expanded wait list.

Note: Members who purchased CBCC hotel rooms automatically earn entry plus defending Champions.

Cost: $450 per person includes food, beverages, prizes, service charges and tax.  

Cancellation/Withdraw:  Please specifically contact Reed (rlansinger@canoebrook.org) if you need to withdraw.  Teams withdrawing the week of the event will be charged if a replacement team cannot be found.
