Championship to determine the top Four-Ball team in Louisiana in 2019.
Field/Format: Limited to the first 96 team entries. All teams will play 36 holes of Four-Ball stroke play (scratch/no handicaps) over two days (June 8-9).
Entry Deadline: Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 5:00 PM CST
Entry Fee: $350 per two man team, which includes cart fee for practice round and tournament play.
Refund Policy: Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if LGA office is notified, in writing, before the close of entries. After the close of entries, fee will be refunded only in the event of injury or illness provided notification (accompanied by a doctor's statement) reaches LGA office by June 7, 2019. A $70 service charge will be deducted from all refunds.
Dress Code, Cell Phones: Competitors must be neat in appearance and wear appropriate attire. No gym shorts, cutoffs, blue jeans, tee shirts, etc.Shorts must be Bermuda length. Use of cell phones, including those used as Electronic Measuring Devices, is prohibited on the course during the competition (The Committee reserves the right to disqualify acompetitor for a breach of the policy regarding cell phone usage; See USGA Rules of Golf Decision 33-7/8). Important Note: Lake Charles CC is a spikeless facility and all competitors will be required to wear spikeless shoes.
Eligibility: Entries are open to any Louisiana resident (as of at least 90 days prior to the Championship) who is an amateur golfer (as defined by the USGA) holding membership in a LGA Member Club in good standing (2019 club and individual dues must be paid). Non-amateurs are not eligible. Entries are subject to rejection at any time (including during the Championship) by the LGA. Reasons for rejection may include unbecoming conduct.
Practice Privileges: Practice privileges are extended to participants in the Championship at Lake Charles Country Club on June 7, 2019. Cart fee paid by LGA. Contact the golf shop at Lake Charles Country Club on or after June 1, 2018 to schedule a practice round. Pairings and starting times for first round of play will be posted at Lake Charles CC, Friday, June 7, 2019. Pairings and starting times will also be emailed to participants on or about June 1, 2019 and posted on the LGA's website, www.LGAgolf.org.
Prizes/Playoff: Prizes will be awarded to the top five placing teams in the Championship. In case of a tie for the Championship, a sudden death playoff will take place immediately upon conclusion of play on Sunday. All other ties, which determine prizes or recognition, will be decided by matching scorecards, per USGA method in Appendix I. For purposes of gift certificates, ties will be added and divided by the number of tied places.
Rules of Golf: Play will be governed by the current USGA Rules of Golf and LGA Rules of Play Card. All questions will be settled by the LGA Rules Committee, whose decision will be final.
