General Information:  The Rules of Golf as adopted by the United States Golf Association govern play.  This information sheet, the CSGA Hard Card and any site-specific Local Rules and Conditions of Competition sheets are supplements to the Rules of Golf.  Local Rules of the host course do not apply.

 

Traffic Notice:  The traffic in this area is extremely heavy throughout the day.  Please take these traffic conditions into consideration when planning your departure/arrival time.

 

Schedule of Events:  Tuesday, October 9, 2018 – 36 holes of four-ball stroke play.

 

Trophies & Prizes:  The Champions will have their names engraved on the permanent Jerry Courville, Sr. Memorial Championship trophy.  Champion team will also receive replica trophies.  Merchandise credit will be awarded for the top three teams, as well as for the low morning round, low afternoon round, and the low senior team.  A team may only win one prize and will be awarded based on the higher prize value.  If there is a tie for 1st place, the team with the low PM round will be declared Champions.  If necessary, ties for all other prize positions will be decided as prescribed in Appendix I, Part C, Section 11c of the Rules of Golf.

 

Senior Division:  Any team with both player over 50 years of age will automatically be placed in the Senior Division.  All senior division teams are also eligible for the overall Championship.

 

Grouping & Starting Times:  Shotgun start will begin promptly at 8:45am for round one.  There will be no break in between rounds.  Teams will provide their round one scorecard to one of the designated scoring areas when making the turn to the 1st or 10th holes for the first time during their afternoon round.

 

Practice Round: There are no practice rounds available.

 

Practice Range:  Range balls will be provided courtesy of Shorehaven GC beginning at 7:00 a.m.  Contestants are requested to use the range for a limited period of time in order for everyone to "warm up".  Please use irons only.

 

Caddies & Transportation:  Golf carts are included in the entry fee.  There will be caddies available on a limited basis.  Please call the Pro Shop at (203) 838-8717 to make arrangements.

 

Attire:  Proper golf attire is required at all times by players, caddies and spectators. Shorts must be Bermuda length.  Shirts must have a collar and be tucked in.  Jeans of all kinds, cargo pants/shorts, tee shirts and tank tops are prohibited.  Hats must be worn in a traditional manner.

 

Footwear:  Shoes with traditionally-designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised either entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round.  Penalty for breach of this condition is disqualification.

 

Distance Measuring Devices:  A player may obtain distance information by use of a distance measuring device. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3.

 

Driver Heads & Golf Balls:  The optional conditions as prescribed in Appendix I of the Rules of Golf are in effect.

 

Food & Beverage:  The following is included in your entry fee: Continental breakfast beginning at 6:30am, boxed lunch, and a cocktail hour and awards presentation with heavy hors d'oeuvres.

 

Withdrawals:

You must contact the CSGA at (860) 257-4171 if you must withdraw from this championship.  A competitor who fails to notify the CSGA of his withdrawal may be subject to disciplinary actions.  If you need to withdraw any time after 5:00pm on Friday, October 5th you can send your withdrawal via email to Ryan Hoffman at rhoffman@csgalinks.org.
