96th New England Amateur Championship

Neshobe Golf Club (VT) | July 15 - 17, 2025

 


 

Eligibility: Entries are open to amateur golfers who hold membership in a club belonging to one of the six New England State Golf Associations and have an up-to-date USGA/GHIN Handicap Index not exceeding 6.4.

Schedule: 54-holes stroke play (18 holes per day) with 144 players. The 60 low players (and ties) after 36-holes will advance to the final round. 

 

Practice Rounds:

  • Dates & Times: Practice rounds will be available in the week leading up to the Championship, subject to availability on the tee sheet. 

    Notes

  • In order to schedule a practice round please call the Neshobe GC Pro Shop - (802) 247 - 3611.  
  • The practice round fee will be $25. 
  • Competitors will be limited to one practice round and will be paired up with other New England Amateur Competitors.
  • Only one ball may be played per competitor during their practice round.
  • Players should play the BLUE Tee Markers (approximately 6,500 yards - Par 72) during their practice round. 

 
Caddies & Automotive Transportation: Players may use caddies during play. A player is not required to employ a caddie for any round of the competition. Players shall not use automotive transportation during play. The optional condition prescribed in Appendix I of the Rules of Golf shall be in effect. Push/Pull Carts are permitted. 

 

Practice Facilities: The practice facilities will open each day 1 hour prior to the first starting time. 

Food/Beverage: The NEGA will be providing a complimentary luncheon on July 15, 16, and 17 for all competitors.

Starting Times: Championship Starting Times & Player Information will be emailed to all competitors and can be found by clicking the link above. 

Prizes: Winner will receive the Harry B. McCracken, Jr. Trophy, and merchandise certificate. Merchandise certificates are only redeemable at the host club.

Inclement Weather/Cancelled Round Stipulation: The NEGA reserves the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules herein.

Restrictions: If the Championship course is declared unplayable and as a result it is not possible to complete the 54 holes of play in the period in which the Championship is scheduled, the Championship will not be extended beyond the last scheduled day and the winner shall be the individual who returns the lowest score for the number of stipulated rounds played. The Committee may institute a cut in order to play the last stipulated round.

Withdrawal/Refund Policy
Competitors, who have submitted an entry for an NEGA event and wish to withdraw for any reason, MUST notify the NEGA office in writing (e-mail is acceptable and encouraged) or by phone. The qualified player payment will be refunded less a $20 administrative fee, regardless of reason, if the NEGA is notified in writing or by phone seven days prior to each event. Entry fee will be refunded less 50% for any withdrawals received less than seven days prior to each event. No refund will be processed for a withdrawal notification that is received within 48 hours of the scheduled date of an event.
