PRACTICE ROUND: Please contact the golf shop at (616) 676-3989. Contestants must call in advance to reserve a tee time and identify themselves as U.S. Mid-Amateur Qualifying contestants. Because the Classic Course routing is not part of normal rotation; please confirm how you will play the course when booking a tee time.
GPS AND RANGE FINDERS: In Sectional qualifying and the Championship proper, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. If a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his/her play, AND USES IT FOR THOSE OTHER CONDITIONS, the player is in breach of Rule 4.3, for which the penalty is TWO STROKES for the first breach of this rule and DISQUALIFICATION for a subsequent breach during the stipulated round.
FOOD: The clubhouse will have food available for purchase.
CADDIES/CARTS: All players are required to walk. A contestant may carry their bag or use a caddie. Caddies must also walk. Carts are not permitted for caddies. Pull carts may be used if the host club allows them. Spectator carts are not permitted for USGA Qualifiers.
PRACTICE RANGE: Complimentary for players on the day of the competition, before play only. Open one hour before the first tee time.
NON-METAL SPIKE POLICY: It is a condition of the competition that shoes with either traditionally designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e., ceramic, plastic, etc.) or, regardless of design, spikes comprised either entirely or partially of metal (if such metal may come in contact with the course) are prohibited during the stipulated round.
PLAYOFF: In case of ties, there will be a playoff immediately following play for the final spot as well as the order for the two (2) alternate positions. It is the responsibility of the player to be present and ready to play when called to the tee for a playoff.
WITHDRAWAL: If you must withdraw, please contact the USGA at (908) 234-2300 leading up to the tournament. If you must withdraw the night or weekend before then please get in touch with the GAM office at tournaments@gam.org or (248) 478-9242. If you call after business hours, please leave a message on voice mail #124. Failure to notify may result in suspension from future USGA and GAM competitions.
