Supplemental Local Rules

 

Play is governed by the Golf Canada Rules of Golf (effective January 2023), PEIGA Standard Local Rules and Tournament Guidelines, and by the following Supplementary Local Rules and Terms of the Competition. 

 

Unless otherwise noted, the penalty for a breach of a Local Rule is the General Penalty.

Red Penalty Areas (Rule 17.1 Options for Ball in Penalty Area) - Three options are: stroke and distance, back on the line relief or lateral relief.

  • Pond on Hole #2,
  • Pond on Hole #7 pond. (A drop zone is provided and will provide an additional relief option in addition to the three options above for rule 17.1 (Options for Ball in Penalty Area.)
  • Left side of Hole #12
  • Left side of Hole #13
  • Left Side of Hole #14

 

Out of Bounds – as defined by course side edge of the white stakes at ground level

  • Left side of Hole #6
  • Left side of Hole #8,
  • Left side of Hole #9, near property fences
  • Left side of hole #10
  • Left side and behind the green of Hole #11

 

Internal Out of Bounds

  • During play of Hole #10, Hole #1 is out of bounds, and is defined by white stakes and the left-hand fairway cut line.  The stakes are boundary objects during the play of Hole #10 and for all other holes are movable obstructions.

 

Ground Under Repair

  • Marked with white paint.
  • Large areas of bare ground in and around the ditch running across #2, 3, 11, 13 are not GUR and are in play with no relief. 
  • New tee decks in front of ditches on #3 and #11 circled in white paint are No Play Zones and mandatory free relief is required.
  • Crow damage in the fairway cut of Hole #1 and Hole #10 are treated as ground under repair from which relief is allowed under 16.1b.  BUT relief is NOT allowed if the damage only interferes with stance. 
  • Call (902)807-9294 for an official ruling if questionable.

 

           Doubt As To Procedure

  • If a Referee is not available and a doubt arises as to how to proceed, play a second ball as per Rule 20.1.  The player MUST report the facts to the Committee before returning their score card.  Failure to do so will result in Disqualification.

 

Roads and Paths (Rule 16.1 applies) Nearest point of relief (free):

  • All paths and roads, plus extensions, whether artificially surfaced or not, are immovable obstructions.
  • Bare ground adjacent to cart paths will be considered an extension of cart path and 4x4 wooden cart path guides are considered as moveable obstructions.

 

Safety flaggers - will be located on holes #6, 8, 16, 17:

  • Red Flag – Do not hit
  • Green Flag – Ball is safely in play
  • Two Flags Crossed – Unsure of ball position, play provisional

Note: While flaggers will do their best to assist, players are ultimately responsible for watching their own tee shots. Please do not rely solely on the flaggers to locate your ball.
