Fieger cruises to 6 stroke win in Amateur
Hissinger captures Stableford title
Playing steady golf in a steady drizzle, Chris Fieger, Sr., captured his first Berks Amateur Championship with rounds of 70-71, one over par, at Heidelberg Country Club, his home course. The 93rd playing of the championship was sponsored by InHome Oxygen and Medical Equipment.
Josh Anderson, the two-time defending champion, and Brian Golembiewski tied for second at 147.
Fieger carded five birdies, four bogies and a single double bogey for the 36 holes.
Bobby Hissinger won the Stableford points flight of the Berks Amateur Championship by a single point over Joel Lampley, 54 points to 53. Standing on the final tee, Hissinger trailed by a point. Bobby got his ball up and down for a par on 18, good for two points. When Joel missed his try for bogey, the championship went to Hissinger.
Special thanks to Heidelberg Country Club, and their staff, for hosting an outstanding event!
